These days, a lot of us probably do most of our shopping online. But shopping for Keto is a whole different ball game, especially if you’re new to this way of eating.

That’s why we’ve assembled this Keto online shopping guide. It’s full of our favorite resources for Keto food delivery, diet staples, snacks, and supplements. Get ready to “add to cart!”

Shopping Keto Online

Shopping online is a great option for Keto because you have as much time as you need to peruse, research ingredients, and find just what you’re looking for.

Still, you’ll need to know how to identify Keto foods.

What to Look For

Some retailers on our list, like Perfect Keto and Kiss My Keto, specialize in Keto-friendly products, so you can trust everything they sell to be Keto-friendly. Others contain a wide variety of foods, so you’ll need to be sure you’re filtering for Keto-friendly options.

Naturally, Keto foods include minimally processed meats, low-carb vegetables, certain fruits, oils, cheese, cream, butter, nuts, and seeds.

Some other Keto products to be on the lookout for include low-carb sweeteners, snacks, and baking staples (like specialty flours or chocolate chips). Foods with “Keto” on the label are a good place to start, although you’ll still want to check the nutrition label. Some “Keto” foods are surprisingly high in carbs.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to Keto foods, along with a downloadable shopping list.

What to Avoid

Several of the retailers on this list offer products that aren’t Keto in addition to their Keto offerings. That’s why it’s important to check the Nutrition Facts label of products before you order them.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid:

  • Conventional breads, pastas, grains, and crackers
  • Sugary sweets, cookies, cakes, and candies
  • Sugar-sweetened drinks, flavored milk, and plant-based milk with added sugars
  • Regular cow’s milk and flavored yogurts
  • Jams, jellies, and spreads made with sugar
  • High-carb baking products like wheat flour and cornmeal

If you’re trying to limit highly processed foods or artificial additives, you may also want to avoid:

  • Artificial sweeteners (sucralose, acesulfame potassium)
  • Artificial flavors (identified on labels simply as “artificial flavors”)
  • Artificial dyes (normally named with a color and a number, like Red 40)

Now you know what to look for and what to avoid, it’s time to go shopping!

Best Keto Pantry Staples

Thrive Market is an online membership club that provides specialty and organic groceries for many different dietary needs, including Keto. They set high standards for the products they choose to sell, so you can trust that they’re free of harmful and artificial additives. Thrive Market is a great spot to pick up snacks, baking needs, and even meats and frozen foods. Membership is $60 per year.

Azure Standard operates a little differently than other online retailers. To save money on shipping costs, there are monthly “drops” where you can go and pick your groceries directly from the delivery truck. Many areas, even very rural ones, already have an established drop. Azure Standard specializes in high-quality and organic products from small businesses. It’s a great way to stock up on your Keto pantry essentials, along with fresh produce, dairy, and meats. There are no membership fees.

Misfits Market started out selling discounted boxes of organic produce that couldn’t be sold in grocery stores - like blemished fruit, misshapen potatoes, or oddly sized squash. Now, they offer a rotating selection of organic produce, grass-fed and pastured meats, organic dairy products, overstock organic and natural snacks, and pantry staples. Selections vary from week to week, but it’s always fun to browse what’s available and see if there are any great deals on Keto foods. There are no membership fees.

CrowdCow is a meat delivery marketplace that offers high-quality meats - from grass-fed beef to organic chicken and wild game - for home delivery. They are very transparent about where their meat comes from and happily provide details about the farms they partner with, their animal welfare standards, and feeding practices. No membership fees are required.

Wild Fork Foods is another online meat retailer. They sell both conventional and organic/grass-fed meats, vegetables, side dishes, and seasonings. You can get some great deals on pork and chicken, and their keto-friendly side dishes (like Creamed Spinach) are absolutely delicious. An optional paid membership unlocks free shipping for one year.

Best Keto Specialty Ingredients

For more specific needs, here are a few retailers that offer specific products that we love using.

Anthony’s Goods specializes in natural, organic, and plant-based baking needs. It’s a great option to stock up on affordable Keto baking supplies, like almond flour, coconut flour, sweeteners, nuts, and seeds. You can filter their catalog to view only Keto products on their website, and they also sell on Amazon.

Tired of pasta sauces that are full of added sugars and low-quality ingredients? Rao’s is the perfect option for quick, weeknight meals that are packed with flavor. While tomato sauces naturally contain some carbs, Rao’s is your best option for Keto-friendly zoodle spaghetti and meatballs.

Hero Bread is, hands-down, one of the best Keto breads you can buy. It’s expensive, but the taste and texture of their products is very close to the “real thing” - with zero net carbs. Note, though, that these breads are NOT gluten-free.

Sugar-free flavored syrups are great for desserts, tea, and coffee, and Jordan’s offers a wide variety of flavors. We recommend sticking to the Naturals or the Keto line, both of which are naturally sweetened with stevia rather than artificial sweeteners.

Kevin’s Natural Foods makes Keto-friendly, frozen entrees with high-quality ingredients. Their Cilantro Lime Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala are excellent. Add a low-carb veggie and you have a Keto-friendly meal ready to eat in minutes.

Best Keto Home Delivery

All of these grocery retailers offer a wide selection of Keto products (although selection varies from store to store) and fast delivery to your home, depending on your location. For more info on in-store grocery shopping on Keto, check out this article.

Whole Foods is a high-end grocery store that specializes in natural and organic food. If you have Amazon Prime, you can get free Whole Foods delivery, depending on your location.

Walmarts are almost everywhere in the US, and many of them have a surprisingly large selection of Keto-friendly foods. Most Walmarts now offer grocery delivery as well.

Kroger features a number of Keto foods, especially in their natural and organic Simple Truth line. You can also get Kroger delivery through Instacart or other grocery delivery apps.

Best Keto Takeout/Delivery

These restaurants offer solid options for Keto-friendly takeout or delivery for those days when you just *can’t* cook.

Just remember that ingredient quality from most chain restaurants is not the greatest, and all of these options likely use low-quality seed oils.

Papa John’s offers Papa Bowls, which are essentially crustless pizzas. To keep the carbs minimal, opt for “light” sauce and stick to low-carb toppings. One of our favorite crustless pizza combos is pepperoni, mushrooms, and spinach.

Panda Express doesn’t offer a dedicated Keto meal, but a great go-to meal that’s low in carbs is Mushroom Chicken with Supergreens (and no rice).

Noodles & Company offers several Keto-friendly dishes made with zucchini noodles, including Zucchini Roasted Garlic Cream, Zucchini Pesto with Grilled Chicken, and Zucchini Rosa with Grilled Chicken.

Best Keto Meal Delivery

Meal kits allow you to cook meals at home, but without all the hassle of meal planning and grocery shopping. They deliver recipes and pre-portioned ingredients straight to your door each week.

Premade meal delivery services offer fresh, ready-to-heat, single-serving meals. If you need a time-saving option that’s NOT dining out, either one of these may be a good fit.

Green Chef, as far as we can tell, is the only traditional meal kit service that offers a Keto menu. Some of the recent selections from their Keto menu include Coconut Shrimp Soup, Barramundi with Bell Pepper Stir Fry, and Baked Ricotta Chicken with Pesto Green Beans. We can attest - Green Chef meals are fun and easy to cook, delicious, and made with organic ingredients that we love!

Factor offers delicious, Keto-friendly, heat-and-eat meals. Of all the premade Keto meals we’ve tried (it’s a lot), Factor was the most consistently flavorful - with the most truly Keto-friendly macros. We’re big fans. Some of their recent Keto options include Jalapeno Popper Burger (with Cauliflower Popper Rice & Roasted Zucchini) and Louisiana Shrimp (with Smoked Gouda Cauliflower Grits & Chicken Andouille Tomato Gravy).

Best Keto Supplements

While supplements aren’t essential for Keto success, there are some that are great additions to your routine - like electrolytes, collagen, MCT oil, and protein powder. Here’s our favorite place to order Keto-friendly supplements.

Perfect Keto sells all of the Keto supplements we recommend, along with a number of Keto-friendly snacks and foods. They also prioritize high-quality ingredients, and you won’t find artificial sweeteners, flavors, or dyes in their products.

Best Keto Snacks

Here are some of our favorite online spots for Keto-friendly snacks. Be sure to check out our hands-on Keto snack reviews too!

ChocZero is a great source for Keto chocolate. They also offer Keto jellies, marshmallows, cocoa mix, sauces, syrups, honey, and baking chips. One-stop shopping for all of your Keto dessert needs!

Catalina Crunch sells Keto cereal and sandwich cookies, but our favorite is their Keto Crunch Mix - which contains nuts, low-carb pretzels, and Catalina Crunch cereal. We love the Creamy Ranch and Spicy Kick flavors, but they’re all tasty.

Kiss My Keto is also a great source for Keto snacks, including gummy candies, cookies, chocolate, and granola. They sell highly-rated breadcrumbs, breads, and bone broth, too.

A lot of the world can’t shop in the US for food. Can we be a bit more inclusive?

Agreed - never heard of any of those outlets.

Unfortunately, Hero Bread uses Canola oil in its products. Eating healthy is difficult because of all the processing that goes into food today - even bread. Also, I've tried both Green Chef and Factor (I did not like either). The best way to change your lifestyle is to cut out all manufactured foods and go with "raw" foods (no processing, except maybe washing). Eggs, meats, fresh cheeses with little processing (read the label!), fresh veggies, and berries.

Foods with “Keto” on the label are a good place to start?? Was this article subsidized by Big Food? This is terrible advice, particularly for newbies. Anyone using keto as way of eating should be encouraged to eat only real whole foods and stay far away from packaged processed food, including packaged foods that say keto on the label. C'mon Carb Manager, how about including articles here written by professionals and not those paid by food manufacturers.

I agree. A lot of the options are not even keto. Paleo and, maybe, low carb, but not keto.
