Keto Easy Dry BBQ Rub
Want to make some yummy low carb BBQ dishes but don’t know where to start? Use this easy Keto BBQ rub recipe on all your favorite meats for grilling or cooking. Just blend several common spices together following these directions, and you’ll add mouthwatering flavor to anything you choose. Sprinkle your meats heavily with the spice rub, then marinate for as many hours as you need to. Fish only need to marinate for 1-2 hours. Chicken and pork can marinate for up to 6 hours, and beef can marinate in the spice rub for as long as overnight. The spices in the BBQ rub will char and blacken to perfection over high heat.
Using dry BBQ rub
It’s really easy to add tons of flavor to your meats with a dry Keto BBQ rub. First, use your fingers to rub olive oil into the flesh of your protein. Then, sprinkle the BBQ rub across the flesh and press it gently into the meat so it adheres. You can even gently massage the meat to help rub in the spices. Marinate your meat for as many hours as you’d like before cooking.
Is this BBQ rub spicy?
There is a small amount of chili powder used in this spice rub. If you’re sensitive to spicy foods, you can use less chili powder or omit it entirely. If you’re extremely sensitive to spicy foods, you may also want to note that cumin and paprika are in the seasoning blend. For a “sweeter”-tasting spice rub, use more onion powder and garlic to add milder, savory flavors.
Keto and BBQ
Since BBQ typically refers to cooking animal protein, you should still keep your macros in mind while enjoying BBQ on Keto. For most of those on the Keto diet, protein should make up around 20% of your macros. To enjoy your BBQ meal, try adding your protein to a Keto bun.
