This easy Keto French hot chocolate recipe comes together in under 10 minutes and it tastes unlike any other hot chocolate you’ve ever had. This hot chocolate is super rich and thick, and one glass will certainly be enough even for the strongest sweet tooth. Make a single glass for yourself or increase the recipe serving size to make a batch of drinks for a group. Kids and adults will find this drink very yummy.
What makes the hot chocolate French?
French hot chocolate has a few notable differences from other types of hot chocolate. Instead of being made with cocoa powder, French hot chocolate is always made with real chocolate melted right into the drink. Not only does the chocolate thicken the drink, but so does the pure heavy cream you’ll be including. The final French touch is a sprinkle of espresso that’s added at the end of making the hot chocolate.
Using Keto chocolate chips
Many common brands of Keto or sugar-free chocolate chips are measured by the amount of pieces on the packaging. Instead of counting out individual chocolate chips, you’ll of course be measuring by weight. Please note that for most chocolate chips about 120 chips equals 1 ounce in weight. This is also noted in the recipe directions, so you can’t miss this helpful tip.

Step 1
Add almond milk, heavy cream, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and liquid stevia to a pot on the stove. Whisk the ingredients together as you begin heating them over medium heat. Bring the pot to a simmer, stirring until the coconut oil melts, then reduce the heat to just under a simmer so the pot stops bubbling.Step 2
Add Keto chocolate chips and espresso grounds to your pot. Since chocolate chips are measured on the packaging by amount, please note that 120 chips = 1 ounce. Whisk the chocolate and espresso into the pot until the chocolate melts and your hot chocolate thickens.Step 3
Pour the hot chocolate into a mug. Taste and add more liquid stevia if you want it to be sweeter. It is optional to include Keto whipped cream or marshmallows on top of your hot chocolate at your discretion.
