The Best Keto Chocolate Almond Butter Smoothie

56 ratings

If you want a tasty twist to your daily breakfast, this recipe is for you. This Keto chocolate and almond butter drink is a deliciously satisfying healthy smoothie. It is a family-friendly drink that both kids and adults can enjoy.

How to make this Keto smoothie?

The plant-based milk that this recipe calls for is vanilla almond milk, but feel free to replace it with your favorite type of milk. The almond butter pairs incredibly with the chocolate flavor, and adds creaminess and richness. We have also added half an avocado and chia seeds for added healthy fats and nutrients. The chocolate element in this recipe comes from unsweetened cocoa powder, which is the most Keto-friendly option. Simply blend all the ingredients together in a blender-proof cup or a blender! This recipe can be prepared in less than 5 minutes.

What are some variations to this recipe?

This recipe is so versatile that you can create many flavors out of it. You can replace the almond butter with peanut butter, hazelnut butter, or cashew butter. You can also add a little bit of instant coffee to get a mocha-flavored Keto beverage or a little bit of sugar-free caramel syrup for another layer of flavor.

What are other sweetener options that work in this recipe?

You can use any calorie-free liquid sweetener of your choice. If you use granulated or powdered sweeteners, they might not dissolve completely and sink to the bottom. The amount of sweetener you use depends on how sweet you like your smoothies.

I loved this smoothie. Came out pretty thick but great! I had to use flax seeds instead of chia seeds because I was out. Will definitely make it again.

I really liked this. Mine came out more like Wendy’s Frosty. I added a little water to it to make it more of a smoothie.

This smoothie is amazing! I added 1 scoop of orgain organic chocolate protein powder and it was very filling. I also used a little less stevia since the protein powder is already sweetened.

I made mine a bit differently to be a meal replacement, but same base recipe. 2 tbsp almond butter, 1 tbsp chia, 1 oz Jordans peanut butter cup syrup, 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, one tablespoon heavy cream, two ice cubes, one cup of water, 1/2 tbsp monkfruit sweetener, and 1/2 an avocado. Without the Jordans skinny syrup it tasted heavily like liquid avocado but after adding the peanut butter cup syrup, it was like sipping on a peanut butter milkshake.

Tried it without the stevia and why goodness this is a smash. Finally have something to replace coconut water. Which takes me out of keto

This is really quite silky and flavorful. And easy to make. AND a way to save that half of the avocado that always seems to go bad when you don't use it right away.

This is really quite good. I used monk fruit drops instead of stevia and I honestly think that a small scoop of instant coffee would make this spectacular!

This is ok for me. My husband loved it. I had to add extra stevia to mine and added orange extract. I will try again with different flavors. It did come out like a thick smoothie so I just need to play with flavorings.
