Step 1
Place the frozen grass-fed beef patties on the racks of an air fryer. If you have an air fryer that only allows for one rack at a time, you may need to cook the burgers in batches. Set the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and the time for 15 minutes. Once a few minutes have passed, and the burgers are no longer frozen solid on the surface, sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Allow the burgers to cook for the remaining 15 minutes. Then, swap the racks and cook for another 8-10 minutes or until the burgers are cooked through and register 165°F (75°C) on a meat thermometer. If using an air fryer with a single rack, set the time for 12 minutes, adding about 5-10 minutes if necessary to finish cooking the burgers through.Step 2
During the last 1 minute of cook time, top the burgers with American cheese. Feel free to experiment with other cheeses such as cheddar cheese or pepper jack!Step 3
While the burgers are cooking, trim off the ends of an onion. Make a small slit into the first layer of the onion only and peel the outside layer off. Slice the onion into very thin slices. Slice the tomato into thin slices as well.Step 4
Wash the lettuce well. Separate the big outer leaves. You will use these to wrap the burgers.Step 5
Once the burgers are done cooking and the cheese is melted on them, place 2 teaspoons of mayo into one of the large iceberg leaves.Step 6
Top the lettuce leaf with the burger patty. Top the burger patty with the low-carb ketchup, mustard, tomato, onion, and pickles. Wrap the burger inside the lettuce.Step 7
If you would like, you can cut the burger in half, but it can be enjoyed all together in one piece as well. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
