Imagine, if you will: It’s a balmy summer morning in Saint-Malo, France. You’re stretched out on a soft beach towel in your favorite sandy spot, watching the ocean waves brush up against beachgoers. In your hand is a cool morning smoothie. There’s a strong coffee smell with a hint of sweet vanilla. Each sip is total bliss and relaxation. You may not be in France, but you can always pretend for just a moment!

What if you can’t have dairy products?

If you can’t tolerate dairy or want to avoid it regardless, you can substitute the heavy cream for canned coconut milk.

Can you use instant coffee in this Keto coffee recipe?

While this recipe calls for freshly brewed coffee, you can definitely substitute it for espresso or instant coffee dissolved in hot water.

Can you sweeten this smoothie?

Absolutely! if you like your latte sweet, then you will probably need to add some kind of sweetener here. We suggest you use any calorie-free liquid sweetener of your choice, like stevia. If you use granulated or powdered sweeteners, they might not dissolve completely and sink to the bottom. The amount of sweetener you use depends on how sweet you like your smoothies.

This smoothie is terrible. Way too many calories for something that tastes like cardboard.

Yum! Used french press coffee and sugar free vanilla syrup in place of vanilla.

Haven’t made it yet. What type of cream is it? Whipped cream?

Do not over blend! Just curious, does your smoothie’s coffee settle when you let it sit?

I enjoyed it and will make it again. I am old fashioned and had to nuke my latte as I love hot drinks. I sprinkled on some cinnamon and it really was good.

Just curious, what makes it 4 Net carbs ? If coffee is brewed from grounds and the heavy whip is zero net carbs ?

Heavy whip does have carbs. They round it down on the package. 1tbsp maybe be 0.4 carbs (from natural milk sugar) a 1/2 cup is 8X that amount equaling 3 carbs (the other carb is from the vanilla)

If you choose an alcohol-free vanilla extract, this will reduce your carbs!

Good replacement for an ice cap. I added a couple drops of vanilla stevia and made the coffee extra strong and kept in the freezer for 30 minutes before blending (as opposed to adding ice cubes and diluting the coffee) I know the recipe doesn't say to that but I was tempted to speed up the process. Very yummy!
