Keto Beef Stroganoff Bowl

80 ratings

A hearty bowl of beef stroganoff makes for the perfect comfort food for lunch or dinner. Of course, for a low carb meal, these bowls are sans egg noodles. However, extra mushrooms make up for the delicious, savory flavor. Instead of sour cream, a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese adds the tangy finish this dish needs to thicken the sauce. Enjoy these keto bowls piping hot!

Recipe Steps

steps 5

20 min

  • Step 1

If necessary, chop the sirloin into bite-sized pieces. Heat a skillet to medium heat and place in the chopped sirloin. Cook the meat through with the lid on until it’s browned and tender. Transfer the cooked beef aside for later. Save any juices in your skillet.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Turn the heat down to medium low and melt the butter into the skillet with the meat juices. Mince and toss in the garlic. Chop and mix in the onions as well. Cover with the lid, and cook the onions and garlic until the onions are transparent.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Slice the mushrooms into thin pieces, and stir them into the skillet. Stir in the beef broth, salt, and pepper. Stir the ingredients together and cover with the lid again. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft and dark.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Remove the lid, and stir in the heavy cream. Stir the cooked steak back into the skillet as well. Let the sauce reduce for about 1 minute.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Finally, turn off the heat but leave the skillet on the stove. Stir in the shredded mozzarella until it’s melted and brings the sauce together. Divide the stroganoff amongst two bowls and top it off with freshly chopped parsley!
    Step 5

I used ground chicken breast, added two shakes of worcestershire sauce, two T cream cheese, and some cayenne. No cheese. Excellent!

Great flavours!!! I made a single portion for myself. I used cheddar as that’s all I had in fridge. I used brown button mushrooms which I had on hand. I ate it with leftover garden salad but this would do well with konjak root keto pasta!!! Hmm, next time😋

I’d say any low carb veggie that you do like. Cauliflower, green beans, zucchini (don’t cook till mushy, add near end)

Made this for 3 people so added 1 more portion of meat only. It was gorgeous....had with some fried shredded cabbage . Very tasty and satisfying. Everyone loved it. Will definitely have again. Didn't change recipe at all apart from more steak.

I made Poor Bachelor Man modifications. Lean ground sirloin, white mushrooms, shredded cheddar, sour cream. Very good. Nutritional info probably about the same.

Great stroganoff, close to the one I use to make. Just removed the mozzarella and added Parmesan. It is a much better thickener. All in all great meal.

I think the default is 2, but you can change how much you make. Above the ingredient list is a section called "About The Recipe". There's a paragraph of text then on the next line it will say "5 mins prep ... 15 mins cook" After that is a input field that says "2 bowls". You can change the 2 to a 4 and it will update all the quantities in the ingredient list so you'll have leftovers.

This is probably one of the better ones we have tried so far. Others lack spice but this one was nice as is.

Of you scroll down the recipe you’ll see how many servings and what the servings are based on. You can also alter servings (ex. change it from 4 to 2) and it will adjust the amounts to put in recipe. It’s good to pay attention to what the serving actually is, because sometimes 1 serving is very small
