Keto Lemon Iced Tea
This Keto iced tea is a refreshing lemon-flavored beverage perfect for summer. Unlike store-bought lemon iced tea, this version is sugar-free and low in calories. It is prepared by steeping black tea and then combining it with lemon juice and stevia. It is most delicious served over ice with lemon slices.
What tea is used for lemon iced tea?
Black tea is the most common type for iced tea as it maintains its flavor after cooling. Other teas also work; these include white tea, green tea, and oolong tea. You can use herbal teas if you're looking for a more refreshing aroma.
Is this beverage sour?
Lemon iced tea is meant to be slightly tangy, but the sourness is balanced out by adding a sweetener. You can control the sourness to your liking by increasing or reducing the lemon juice.
What sweetener can you use for this Keto lemon iced tea?
Liquid sweeteners are best when preparing beverages because they dissolve quickly and won't crystalize with temperature changes. We have used pure stevia drops, but you can also use sugar-free flavored syrups. For a natural Paleo alternative, use honey, blackstrap molasses, or maple syrup.
How to customize this Keto iced tea?
Instead of plain black tea leaves, use tea bags with added dried fruits. You can also throw in some fresh fruit, like peach wedges or orange slices. Further boost the health benefits of this iced tea by adding turmeric, ginger, or cinnamon.
