Keto Crispy Parmesan Green Beans
Enjoy this Keto recipe as a simple side dish or a nutritious snack. Adults and kids alike love the golden brown parmesan cheese breading coating each crunchy-baked green bean. You can pick them right up and eat them like a finger food or french fry. When done baking, let the green beans cool completely before storing them in an airtight container or Ziploc bag in your refrigerator. The Keto green beans can last through up to 3 days of freshness. They’re best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but this is one of those snacks that taste good as cold leftovers too. If you want to serve your crispy green beans with a dip, search through one of Carb Manager’s many dip recipes. Carb Manager also has many Keto meals that would pair great with this recipe, such as chicken or fish dishes.
Can I Make This Recipe In My Air Fryer?
If you own an air fryer, you can absolutely make this Keto recipe with it! You can keep the baking temperature the same as directed, but you’ll significantly reduce your cooking time. Start with cooking the prepared green beans in your air fryer for 7-10 minutes. Then you can rotate the green beans and finish cooking for an additional few minutes. Depending on the style of air fryer you have, you might need to counteract the hard air that might blow your green beans all around. If that’s the case, line your baking tray with parchment paper and weigh it down with a heat-safe item, like a small glass dish.
Can I Use Other Cheese?
Parmesan cheese is an important part of making this Keto green bean recipe crispy and delicious. The reason parmesan cheese is so perfect for substituting as crunchy bread crumbs is because it’s a hard cheese. Hard cheese can withstand high temperatures in your oven without melting or losing its shape. There aren’t many other kinds of cheese that have this quality. Other substitutions can be Pecorino Romano and some Manchego. In this case, parmesan will be your best option.

Step 1
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees and line a sheet tray with parchment paper. Rinse and pat dry fresh green beans and place them in a large mixing bowl. If necessary, cut off any hard or stringy ends of the green beans before you use them. Melt the butter in your microwave and drizzle it over the green beans. Toss the green beans with the butter until they’re completely coated. Then, toss the green beans with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.Step 2
Fill a large Ziploc bag with grated parmesan cheese. You can add a little extra cheese than what is listed to the bag to ensure the green beans get properly coated. Transfer the seasoned green beans to the parmesan cheese bag and seal the bag with air inside. Shake the green beans around until they’re mostly coated in the parmesan cheese. Shake the green beans out onto your sheet tray.Step 3
Spread the green beans out gently so they bake evenly. Bake the tray in your oven for 25 minutes. Then, flip and move the green beans around on the tray with a fork or other utensil so any remaining white parmesan cheese can brown. Bake the tray for an additional 10 minutes. The green beans should be crispy and easy to pick up. Serve hot!
