Zero Waste Keto Celery and Spinach Keto Juice

Starting your day with green juice is all the hype right now. Opting for store-bought juice may be excellent for your health but bad for the environment. Even though this drink may help flush toxins out of your body and add nutrients, so much vegetable waste is left behind. Preparing zero waste recipes at home is the best practice for reducing waste, repurposing byproducts, and eliminating plastic.

How is this juice zero waste?

Many people throw away edible parts of a vegetable when juicing just because they’re not used to consuming them. Many vegetables’ skin/peel and stems are edible; they only need a thorough rinse or scrub. For this recipe, we are using the stalks and leaves of celery and spinach. Then, we are repurposing the pulp into delicious fritters for lunch. You can get creative with the pulp and create crackers omelets, or try our zero waste fritters: https://my.carbmanager.com/meals/my-foods?dialog=food-detail:ug:e24200c3c0d9423086b9f35fe7f4f53d

What are the health benefits of drinking Keto juice?

Detox juice is an excellent way of getting many nutrients from vegetables without eating them. Drinking this beverage on an empty stomach may help eliminate toxins, improve digestion, and increase energy levels. The nutrients you’ll be consuming will depend on the type and quantity of vegetables, fruits, and greens you use.

Does this recipe require a juicer?

While many require a juicer, this Keto juice recipe doesn’t. Using this method, you can prepare any Keto detox juice you desire without needing a juicing appliance. Simply add all the fruits and veggies you want to a blender with a bit of water, and blend until super smooth. Then, line a fine strainer with a clean cloth and place it over a bowl. Pour the mixture over the fabric and let the juice strain, leaving the pulp behind. Alternatively, you can pour the mixture into a nut milk bag and squeeze it over a bowl. Since this recipe contains celery, a very fibrous vegetable, it is best to use a high-speed blender or high-power food processor. If you have a regular blender, you’ll need to blend for longer and pause and stir every couple of seconds. You can also add a little more water to give it a boost.

Can you customize this recipe?

Of course, you can! You can add as many ingredients as you want, as long as they are Keto-friendly. We recommend packing this juice with nutrient-rich greens like kale, chard, and herbs. Non-starchy vegetables like cucumbers, beets, and ginger are also great. You need to limit fruit since most of them are high in sugar. Use your choice of fruit in small quantities or stick to lemon and lime.
