Keto Christmas Tree Pull-Apart Garlic & Herbs Bread
This pull-apart, garlic & herb-filled Christmas tree is a show-stopper. It serves as the perfect appetizer for kids and adults alike. Don't be fooled by the looks of this dish; it is extremely easy to prepare.
How to make Keto dough for the bread?
This Keto bread recipe is easier than you might think. Mix almond flour, coconut flour, xanthan gum, baking powder, and salt in a food processor and pulse until incorporated. Add vinegar and an egg, and pulse with the help of a bit of water until a dough forms. Let it rest in the fridge for 10 minutes. Take it out of the refrigerator and roll it into your desired shape or form.
How to make the herb filling?
The herb filling is the easiest part of this recipe. Simply mix softened butter with your desired herbs and flavorings. This filling is prepared with parsley, dried oregano, dried dill, fresh parsley, and parmesan cheese. You can customize it using fresh coriander, basil, mint, or sage. You can also add olive or sundried tomato tapenade.
Can you prepare this bread ahead of time?
Once baked, this Keto Christmas bread should be served immediately. If left to cool, it will dry up and become more like biscuits than bread. You can, however, prepare the tree and store it covered in the fridge for a day or two. Bake it right before Christmas dinner and serve it warm.

Step 1
Add almond flour, coconut flour, xanthan gum, baking powder, and salt to a bowl. Whisk until combined. Add the vinegar and whisk again.Step 2
Crack the eggs into another bowl and whisk. Add it to the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Add the water and mix using a wooden spoon as needed. The dough should be firm yet slightly sticky.Step 3
Wrap the dough in cling film and knead through the plastic for a couple of minutes. Transfer to the fridge and rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the garlic herb filling.Step 4
Add the room-temperature butter to a bowl. Mince the garlic and finely chop the parsley. Add them to the bowl along with the dried oregano, dill, and parmesan cheese. Mix to combine, and set aside.Step 5
Preheat your oven to 350F/180C. Take the dough out of the fridge and divide it into two pieces. Roll each one between 2 pieces of parchment paper into a rough rectangle.Step 6
Spread the garlic herb mixture onto one of the rolled-out dough sheets. Place the plain dough sheet on top. Trim the edges into a large triangle.Step 7
Cut horizontal strips into the dough, keeping the center of the triangle intact. Twist gently, pinching the dough together to seal it closed. It should look like a Christmas tree at this point.Step 8
Make a star and a tree base out of the trimmings and attach them. Brush with egg wash and bake for 18-20 minutes until the tree begins to brown. Don't overbake it; it needs to stay soft and moist.Step 9
Take it out of the oven and optionally garnish it with fresh herbs and crushed red pepper. Serve immediately!
