The Best Keto Marzipan

If you have been following a Keto diet and have been craving marzipan over the holidays, then we have a Keto-friendly version that you'll LOVE. This Keto marzipan recipe is the best out there because it requires just 5 ingredients and can be prepared in under 10 minutes using a food processor only. This dessert is super soft, delicious, and is guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.

What is marzipan?

Marzipan is an almond candy dough famous in many areas around the world. It is usually served during holidays or on special occasions. Marzipan can be eaten on its own, dipped in chocolate, or made into other desserts.

Is marzipan Keto-friendly?

Regular marzipan is not Keto-friendly because it is prepared with sugar. However, this Keto marzipan uses powdered erythritol, which is 100% sugar-free. Not only is this recipe Keto-friendly, but it is also gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian.

How to use this homemade Keto marzipan?

This almond candy is super versatile and can be used to make many other Keto desserts. You can roll out the dough into a log, cut it into equal pieces, and dip them in melted chocolate. To make marzipan truffles, simply roll the dough pieces into bite-sized balls and roll them in cocoa powder. You can also use this Keto marzipan dough recipe to make cakes, cookies, and stollens.

How long will this dessert last?

Since this marzipan recipe contains raw eggs, it doesn't have a very long lifespan. You can store it in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for 3 months. To prevent it from drying, tightly wrap it in multiple layers of cling film.

Disclaimer: This recipe contains raw eggs. We must warn you that consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have increased susceptibility (i.e., elderly, children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals).

  • Step 1

To a food processor, add the almond flour and powdered erythritol. Blend until the dry mixture resembles a fine powder. If you don't have a food processor, you can whisk these 2 ingredients together in a bowl.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract to the food processor. Blend until a rough dough comes together. Make sure that no almond flour is left at the bottom of the food processor.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Transfer the dough to a bowl. Knead for a couple of minutes until a smooth dough forms. If the dough is sticky, add a little more almond flour. If it's too dry, add a tsp or 2 of water.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Cut a large piece of cling film and lay it flat on your work surface. Shape the dough into a log and place it on the plastic. Wrap the cling film around the dough, secure it from both sides, and roll it until it becomes a smooth cylinder.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Place the marzipan log in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up. When ready to serve, place it on a serving platter, and cut it into 15 slices. Serve on its own or with melted chocolate.
