Ingredients
Spaghetti Squash
30 ounce
Salt
½ teaspoon
Black Pepper, Ground
½ teaspoon
Olive Oil
8 tablespoon
Recipe Steps
steps 5
1 h 7 min
Step 1
Preheat and oven to 400 degrees and line a sheet tray with foil. Prepare a spaghetti squash by remove the end with the stem and slicing the squash in half lengthwise, to reveal the seeds inside. Remove and discard the seeds.Step 2
Please note that the amount of spaghetti squash listed in the ingredients is the yield weight of only the squash that is eaten for a more accurate nutritional log. The original weight of the entire squash used for 4 servings was about 2 ½ lb.Step 3
Sprinkle the salt and pepper generously over the exposed insides of the squash. At this point, you may add additional seasonings you would enjoy. This squash has italian seasoning as well. Pour the olive oil liberally over each half of squash, even up to the edges.Step 4
Flip the squash over and place face down on your sheet tray. Bake the tray for 60 minutes or until you can push a fork easily through the squash fruit. Set the squash aside to cool for 10-15 minutes.Step 5
Once cooled enough to handle, use a fork to shred the squash into spaghetti strands, discarding the skins. Serve immediately or cool completely for meal prep storage.

Love spaghetti squash. Very versatile. I feel the nutritional values are way off in this recipe. They are way too high. You should reevaluate your carbs and fibre. There is only squash with salt and pepper and oil in this recipe.

I microwave each half filled with water for 20 mi. Then pour out wate, shred with fork and add butter and onion and garlic powder to taste.

trying this - thanks!

I don’t even add water to mine just turn cut side down on plate and the squash steams in its own juices. Be sure to poke a few fork holes though to let steam escape. Takes less time as well. In fact I start all my squashes in the microwave first to speed up baking

Spaghetti is my favorite squash along with zucchini. I use the shell as a bowl. Add my topping and yum yum.

I googled it and its 10 grams of carbs per cup of cooked squash plain. I see why it is a keto limit now.

But you get to minus the 2 grams of fiber to get net carbs. So 8. Still high though

Maybe it's 1/3 of a squash?

1/3 cup is like 2 bites, I don’t think the fat and carb content is correct.

These “chef inspired “ recipes are often way off the correct nutritional info as well as the ingredients and etc..plus 8 tablespoons of oil sounds crazy to me??? Servings says 1 x1/3 cup??? Whatever that means? Is it 1 and 1/3rd cup or 1/3 cup??why not just say 1/3 cup to avoid confusion . Everywhere else on recipe reads 1/3 cup! Always do your own research.. these recipes are usually not correct!!! Think maybe a new chef is needed??

Faster easier way to cook a spaghetti squash is in an InstaPot! Put squash on rack, one cup water, 12 minutes... let off steam slowly. Perfect every time!

I don’t believe the nutritional information is calculating properly. No way is 1 serving (1/3 c) 18.4g of fat??

Maybe because of olive oil used liberally in recipe
connielhenry3da3 2 years ago
I think that would be the olive oil
opforce3000 4 years ago
I would say that the fat comes from only the olive oil used. Even that would be a stretch though. I would drench each serving with butter which would up the fat content.

There is .4 gm fat in 1 cup spaghetti squash
Danielleblair28 4 years ago
Maybe all the olive oil?

You are right, considering that 1 cup of spaghetti squash has one-half grams of fat.

I would use the skins base as a bowl

I think that’s a fantastic idea!!
