Keto Kids' Egg Cut Outs
Here is a great Low Carb kid-friendly recipe helpful for Keto parents looking to edge their children to a more Low Carb diet. A simple egg omelet is made and then cut into fun shapes using cookie cutters. Feel free to use a small paring knife to make your designs! Kids will love choosing cookie cutters to help cut out shapes. Healthy fats from the egg and sauteing oil will help to keep them full and satisfied until lunchtime.
What to pair with egg cutouts?
Kids should not be on an extremely low-carb diet (unless they are on a special diet for health reasons), so pair the egg with fresh fruit like strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Even consider higher carb, but still lower glycemic fruits like plums, apricots, apples, and more.
What kinds of cookie cutters to use?
Feel free to use any sized cookie cutter you would like to. For smaller amounts of egg (like in this recipe), use cookie cutters about 1”-2” in size. To make larger cut-outs, use more eggs and a larger frying pan to ensure a larger omelette for cutting shapes.
Can I use other oils to saute?
Yes! Feel free to use olive oil, lard, tallow, or coconut oil instead of avocado oil.
