Carnivore Crispy Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings

8 ratings

If you are craving crunchy fried chicken but want to keep it clean for a Carnivore diet, these crispy golden wings are perfect for you. The mouthwatering baked wings are healthy and unrefined, making them ideal for dinner, lunch, or a snack. Requiring just 5 simple ingredients and 5 minutes of active prep time, these wings are ready in no time.

What type of chicken should you use for Carnivore diet recipes?

When preparing Carnivore diet recipes, always choose high-quality organic meat to reap maximum nutrition. For this recipe, we are using pasture-raised chicken wings from a trusted source. You can also use skin-on, bone-in chicken drumsticks, as long as they are organic and pasture-raised.

How long should you cook this Carnivore chicken recipe for?

Wings are the smallest part of a chicken and thus require the least cooking time. When roasting chicken wings, the goal isn’t to only cook the meat but also to render fat from the skin and get it golden and crispy; no one likes rubbery chicken wings. This is why we are baking these wings on high heat for 30 minutes.

How can you customize this Carnivore chicken recipe?

Usually, Carnivore diet recipes allow some dairy, but we kept this recipe clean and suitable for a strict carnivore diet. If you can tolerate dairy, add some grated cheese like parmesan, cheddar, or Monterey Jack, creating a delicious crust when baked. You can also add your desired spices and herbs. For serving, dip these chicken wings in sour cream. If you decide to use dairy in this recipe, ensure it is A2 and low-lactose/lactose-free.

What is a serving size?

The serving size depends on your appetite and calorie requirements. Chicken wings are high in fat, thus more satiating than leaner chicken cuts. We are preparing this recipe for dinner, thus serving 10 wings per person. If preparing this meal for lunch or as a snack, 5 wings could be enough. Either way, we suggest preparing a large batch, serving some right away, and meal prepping the rest.

Disclaimer:

Parsley is used as a garnish and can be omitted if following a strict carnivore diet.

I cook my wings in the air fryer at 400° for 14-16 minutes depending on the size of them.

I always cook my wings on the air fryer. they turn very crispy on the outside and tender inside. Try adding some oregano and garlic powder to this recipe.

We cook wings in the air fryer and they are good. I’ll try this in my air fryer next time.

Very good. I needed more seasoning and added cumin, chili powder and garlic. Next time I’ll let the seasonings marinate for a couple of hours. Easy and we have a small connection oven I use to reheat leftovers and the “re-crisp” perfectly.
