Keto Chicken Tikka Masala
Tikka Masala is an absolute classic, but you don’t have to spend hours over a stovetop cooking down spices! The ingredient list is lengthy, but it takes just 10 minutes to get everything together. Serve your Chicken Tikka Masala with cauliflower rice, fried rice, or keto veggies!

After the 6 hours, leave the crock pot on high heat. Remove the bay leaves. Combine the heavy cream and xanthan gum. Then, pour the cream into the tikka masala. Stir everything together in the crock pot, and let the chicken cook without the lid on for 20 minutes so the sauce thickens.Step 5

Easy rice made with Shiritski mushrooms.

Try serving with shirataki noodles made with yam flour. If you can't find shirataki noodles, you can serve over vegetables such as chopped mushrooms or zucchini cooked in olive oil.

Was delicious... non-keto family members highly approved as well. I followed another reviewer's suggestion and cooked in instant pot on high for 15 minutes. I accidentally added xanthum gum with other spices prior to cooking - no problem! Sauteed cream into it afterwards, and it thickened in about 2 minutes. Was perfect! Served it with Keto Lavash Bread (recipe here in Carb Manager). Thanks for yummy recipe!

Can I use cream instead of the yogurt?
recipewriter 5 years ago
Yes, but you may not need as much cream as you would yogurt, so keep this in mind.

Can you substitute yogurt with sour cream?
recipewriter 5 years ago
Yes! However you may want to use closer to 1/3 c or 1/4 c of sour cream.

Surely you mean 3 bay leaves, not 3 grams!
recipewriter 5 years ago
Yes, please count this as 3 whole leaves instead of measuring by weight!

I left out the tomato paste. I am sensitive to tomatoes. And used 2 lbs. of chicken instead. I BROILED the chicken instead. Quicker and it's like using a grill and carmelized bits of the chicken. Yummy! I adjusted calories for this too. Just wish they'd given amounts of a serving on recipe.

Made this in an instant pot. Chicken, spices and tomatoes paste. Added 1 cup homemade chicken stock. Insta pot for 30 minutes. Then added the yogurt and heavy cream and reduced in sauté. Served over cauliflower rice. Perfect!
