Keto Spicy Trail Mix
Whether you’re hanging out on a Friday night or going on a camping trip, this spicy Keto trail mix is a must-have. Loaded with heart-healthy nuts and seeds, this trail mix is guaranteed to help fight off cravings while providing nutrition. You can never go wrong with such a customizable recipe to please all preferences.
Is trail mix Keto-friendly?
Whether a trail mix is Keto-friendly or not depends on the ingredients used. Most of the colorful, candy-filled recipes online are packed with sugars and carbs. This recipe is prepared using Low-Carb nuts, seeds, and spices. One serving of this snack contains 4g of net carbs and 16g of fats to help keep you satiated.
What are the best nuts for this recipe?
This recipe uses almonds, cashews, and walnuts; however, you can omit/replace any of these. Feel free to add hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, or pecans. If you are allergic to nuts, double down on sunflower and pumpkin seeds, and add coconut chips, hemp seeds, and dried fruits and berries.
Should you use roasted, salted, or raw nuts and seeds?
We prefer using unsalted nuts to control the sodium levels. As for using roasted nuts versus raw, we prefer using raw nuts and seeds since we will bake them. Baking pre-roasted nuts/seeds may give them a burnt flavor.
How spicy is this trail mix?
This Keto trail mix is mildly spicy, but it depends on your tolerance. You can add as little or as much cayenne pepper as you please. If you can’t handle the heat, swap the cayenne for more paprika.
