Keto Japanese Ground Beef Donburi

Keto Japanese Ground Beef Donburi is a quick and delicious Keto recipe that is perfect for weeknight dinners. Ground beef is very easy to prepare and keep on hand (keep it frozen to have meat on hand any time). The ground beef is sauteed with ample amounts of fresh ginger and seasoned with soy sauce. Frozen peas join into the mix to add a pop of color and sweetness. The meat is piled on top of cauliflower rice and served piping hot! Ground Beef Donburi is a wonderful kid-friendly recipe too.

Can I add more ginger?

Yes! Ginger has a whole host of health benefits, so feel free to add more.

I cannot have soy sauce. What can I use to substitute?

Please replace the soy sauce with coconut aminos. Coconut aminos have less salt, so be sure to taste the mixture before serving and add salt to your taste.

Can I serve this beef over white rice?

Yes, those on Targeted Keto plans can happily enjoy adding carbs around their workouts, and this gingery ground beef would be delicious on top of white rice!

When do you add the tamari sauce

Elizabeth, I add the tamari sauce after everything else is in the pan. Almost like a final flavor boost at the end of the cooking process. Cooking it again tonight--adding garlic, green onions, and bamboo shoots, and using herb and garlic cauliflower rice. The house smells marvelous! Enjoy! 💙🧙🏻‍♀️🌀

Another hit! Just delicious! Here's the deal...I added minced garlic and sliced bamboo shoots, and then substituted cauliflower rice for white rice--but this is another winner for us! I also determined that it would be easy to substitute pork, steak, or even chicken for the ground beef. What a versatile recipe--yay! 💙🧙🏻‍♀️
