Keto Non Alcoholic Mojito

You can make this easy Keto non alcoholic drink recipe in just a couple of minutes. Whether you are abstaining from alcohol or just want a fun, flavorful “mocktail” to drink, this is the perfect mojito recipe for your Keto diet. That’s not to say any fat is added to the drink! Just a few adjustments are made to a traditional mojito to make it more Keto-friendly. You’ll be cutting out a lot of sugar and using fresh ingredients. Make yourself a glass to enjoy on a warm evening or make the drink for a group of friends who are watching their sugar intake. If anybody in your group does want to enjoy some libations, simply add a shot of alcohol to their beverage. You’ll be using liquid stevia to sweeten your drink, so add as much as you need to make your mojito as sweet as you want!

What is in a traditional mojito?

A traditional mojito always begins with lime and mint being muddled in the bottom of the glass. When they’re made with alcohol, it’s usually white rum. Then a simple syrup is added with more lime juice and mint. Mojitos can be topped with sparkling water too.

What makes this drink Keto?

If you read the introduction above, a couple of changes need to be made to traditional mojitos to make them Keto non alcoholic drinks. Simple syrup is made with sugar, so that has to be omitted. Liquid stevia is the perfect zero-carb sweetener to use instead. Also, instead of using too much lime juice, which will add carbs, use lime-flavored sparkling water.

Other mojito flavors

Usa this Keto non alcoholic drink recipe as a starting point. Instead of mint, try substituting with basil or just adding a little basil in with your mint. Along with limes, mojitos taste great with cucumbers and fresh strawberries. Pop a sliced strawberry in your drink before you pour sparkling water over it!

  • Step 1

When gathering your ingredients, it’s recommended you choose a sweet variety of lime, since you’re using natural fruit juice to flavor the mojito. Choose a key lime as well as sparkling water that’s lime or lemon-lime flavored. Don’t forget fresh mint, which is mandatory for a mojito!

  • Step 2

You’ll need to muddle a small wedge of lime and 2-3 mint leaves in the bottom of each glass you are preparing. It’s best to use a pestle from a mortar and pestle set, but you can get creative with what type of kitchen tools you can use. Use the back of a silver spoon or the round base of a kitchen utensil to muddle the lime and mint in the glass.

Fill your glass with ice over the lime and mint, then pour sparkling water into the glass until it’s full. Add 5-7 drops of liquid stevia to your drink, and use a long spoon to briefly stir the drink. You can garnish with extra lime wedges and mint leaves.
