Best Keto Kosher Chocolate Chip Brownies

We all need a Kosher-friendly brownie in our life! These brownies are fudgy and full of healthy fats from eggs and grass-fed butter. The batter is super easy to make. Simply melt the butter in a large bowl, then combine all the other ingredients into it. The batter is poured into a prepared 8” x 8” baking pan, topped with delicious stevia-sweetened chocolate chips, and baked to perfection! Once cooled, the brownies will be ready to be cut and served. Since there is no sugar in this recipe, these brownies are best slightly heated in the microwave the following day to warm them.

What are the best eggs to use?

The best eggs to eat are pasture-raised eggs if you can afford them. They are full of Vitamin D (sometimes up to 1400 IU per yolk), B2, B12, selenium, and iodine. They also contain more Vitamin A and folate compared to conventionally raised eggs.

How do I know the brownies are done baking?

The brownies are done baking when puffed but just barely cooked. Try not to overcook these brownies because they will not be as fudgy. Please remember that they will continue to cook as they are cooling due to residual heat.

Can I add chocolate chips to the batter?

In our recipe, we have simply put the chocolate chips on top. However, feel free to create a new recipe in your Carb Manager app and add additional chocolate chips, which you can mix into the batter for an extra rich and indulgent brownie.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C). Add the butter to a large microwave-safe bowl. Melt it in 30-second intervals. Then add the remaining ingredients except for the chocolate chips. Stir well to make sure all the ingredients are combined.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Spray an 8” x 8” pan with cooking spray (we like to use an avocado cooking spray over a vegetable-based cooking spray). Then pour the batter into the prepared pan. Spread the batter smooth with an offset spatula.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Sprinkle the top of the brownies with ¼ cup of chocolate chips evenly on the surface. Bake for 15-16 minutes or until the brownies are cooked through but not overbaked. The brownies should be just set but not too gooey. Allow cooling completely in the pan before attempting to cut them. Cut into 16 squares.

Probably that there’s no wheat flour in it. But without knowing brands it’s hard to tell.

Did anyone happen to confirm how much cocoa powder to use? Is it one cup? 5g seems equivalent to a tablespoon. So one cup seems too much and 1 tablespoon to little.

These were super easy to make and definitely satisfied that chocolate craving! I ended up adding 2-3 more tablespoons of 100% Dutch Cocao and substituted butter flavor coconut oil for the butter and cooked it about 10 minutes longer due to the baking pan I had. Brownies stayed moist for several days in a container, however after the second day I noticed a sandy texture throughout the brownie similar to sugar crystals. Didn’t bother me enough to not eat them though. I also sifted Swerve Confectioners sugar (Icing sugar) over the top of the brownies once they had cooled. Great recipe that I’ll make again to satiate that chocolate/brownie craving!

According to another recipe 1 Tbsp is equal to 0.18oz or 5g. Not 1 cup, 1 Tbsp. 😊

I didn’t catch the 5g thing and dumped a full cup of cocoa powder into the bowl. I ended up doubling the rest of the ingredients…well, I put in a little less swerve and a little less almond flour to account for extra cocoa powder. It’s baking, now, but I’m thinking I should have added an 1/8 tsp of kosher salt as salt would bring out the flavor of the chocolate more. No matter how it turns out, I’ll be eating it cuz….chocolate

Same question regarding quantity of dark chocolate cocoa powder -- 1 cup surely weighs more than 5 grams!
