Keto Everything Sesame Chicken Strips w Spicy Honey Sauce
Kids or adults will like these Keto chicken strips equally! Traditional fried breading is swapped out for a more Keto-friendly crunchy coating. You’ll be rolling fresh white meat chicken strips in a mixture of the popular “everything bagel” seasoning and extra sesame seeds. When baked in your oven, the chicken strips have a golden color and a crunchy outside with a tender inside. Served with these chicken strips is a Keto dipping sauce made with spicy brown mustard, a touch of honey, and some butter. If you don’t want your dipping sauce to be spicy, you can swap the spicy mustard out for plain brown mustard (or really any common mustard you can buy at the grocery store). This is also a great recipe for Keto meal prepping! Just keep the dipping sauce separate from the chicken strips when you’re reheating your meal prep container. The finished chicken strips can last in your refrigerator for up to 5 days, depending on the freshness of your chicken.
How To Make Everything Bagel Seasoning
Everything bagel seasoning has become fairly popular after some popular grocery chains started selling their own brand. Now, you can find it amongst all the other spices in the baking aisle. If you can’t seem to find everything bagel seasoning at your grocery store, you can easily make it yourself at home. Combine an even mixture of poppy seeds, dried onion flakes, dried garlic, and sesame seeds with a pinch of salt. You can season all types of protein with this mixture, and it’s totally Keto-friendly.
Other Ways To Sweeten My Dipping Sauce
This recipe calls for a very small amount of honey to sweeten the spicy honey dipping sauce. While this won’t affect your carbohydrates much at all, there are other sweeteners you can use if you avoid honey products on the Keto diet. Your next best bet would be to use liquid stevia. Start with just a few drops, since stevia product can have a bit of an after taste. If you don’t have liquid stevia, the granulated version can fill in as a substitution.

Step 1
Turn on the oven to preheat to 350 degrees. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper and set it aside. On a clean cutting board, pat chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. You may use thin-sliced chicken breasts or pound your breasts flat with a mallet to a ½” thickness. Slice the breasts into long, 2-ounce strips. Rub the olive oil into the tops of the strips and season them with salt and pepper.Step 2
In a shallow dish or on a plate, combine the everything bagel seasoning and sesame seeds into an even mixture. One by one, pick up a chicken strip, roll it in the everything sesame seasoning for 100% coverage, and lay it down on the prepared sheet tray. When all the chicken strips are prepared, bake the tray for 25 minutes, flipping the strips over about halfway through. Let the strips cool for just a few minutes after cooking.Step 3
While the chicken strips are cooling, you can make the spicy honey mustard sauce. In a small dish, whisk together spicy brown mustard and honey. In a separate dish, microwave the butter until it’s melted. Whisk the melted butter into the honey mustard. If the dipping sauce is too thick, you can microwave the completed sauce for 10-15 seconds so it’s warm and looser. Each chicken strip can have about 1 teaspoon of dipping sauce.
