You can easily make crispy kale chips in the air fryer. I love how simple this recipe is, but the result is ultra-crispy salty kale chips. The best part about the air fryer is how quick they are to make and can be made in individual batches. Fresh, organic lacinato kale is washed, thoroughly dried, chopped then drizzled with olive oil and sea salt. They should be stored in an airtight container, but they are best if eaten immediately as they quickly lose their crispy texture.

What if I don’t have an air fryer?

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can cook the kale in a 270 F oven as well, but the length of time will be considerably longer.

  • Step 1

    Wash the kale and then strip the kale of the stems using your hands. Cup your hand around the leaves and pull the stem through your hands.

    Place the wet leaves into a salad spinner to be thoroughly dried.

    Chop the kale into 2” pieces. Place the kale into the bottom of an air fryer basket without the rack. Toss half of the kale with ½ of the olive oil and sea salt.

    Cook the kale at 270 F for 5 minutes. Toss the kale and cook for another 5 minutes at 270 F.
