Keto Piña Colada
Make this Keto piña colada recipe on a hot day or when you’re trying to manifest some warmer weather. A piña colada is easy to make virgin (non-alcoholic), so simply omit the alcohol if you plan to share the drink with any non-drinkers. This Keto-friendly alcohol drink is made with all-natural ingredients like real pineapple and coconut milk. In moderation, one or two piña colada drinks can be enjoyed and tracked on your Keto diet. The whole fruit is blended up with light rum and ice for a classic frozen beverage. Serve 8 fluid ounces of frozen or shaken piña colada in a tall glass, or share a whole batch with a group “fishbowl” style.
Can I eat pineapple on the Keto diet?
This Keto piña colada is made with only natural ingredients instead of concentrated juices. When using real pineapple, enjoy in moderation. This means maybe having pineapple only once a week. Since pineapple is high in carbs, it’s not something you’d normally want to snack on during your Keto diet. Having a special drink once in a while is okay though.
Who invented the piña colada?
The fruity and colorful piña colada was invented in the 1950s. After a bartender at a Puerto Rican hotel made up the drink, piña coladas took vacationers by storm. Of course, traveling North Americans had to share their discovery back at home, and now the piña colada is a staple frozen drink every bartender knows how to make. You can whip this piña colada recipe up in just minutes at home.

Step 1
Add drained pineapple chunks to a blender with the cream of coconut. Get cream of coconut by opening a can of coconut milk that has separated and skim the cream from the top of the can. Blend these ingredients with water to make your piña colada base.Step 2
Choose a light rum and not a dark rum for the piña colada. Any brand of your preference will do. Add the rum and liquid stevia to the piña colada mix. Blend again before adding ice cubes. Only blend ice cubes into the piña colada if you want a frozen drink.Step 3
If you did not blend ice into the piña colada, pour the drink directly over ice or shake your drink with ice in a shaker before straining it into a frosted glass. If you made your piña colada frozen in the blender, pour it directly into a cold glass and drink immediately with a straw. Large batches of piña colada can be enjoyed for up to 24 hours.
