Indulge in a flavorful and nutritious meal with our Keto Whole Baked Garlicky Fish with Cabbage recipe! Tender trout is baked to perfection atop a bed of shredded cabbage, infused with aromatic garlic and parsley. This dish is not only Keto-friendly but also incredibly satisfying and easy to prepare. Let's dive into the recipe and elevate your dinner experience!
Can I use a different type of fish for this recipe?
Yes, absolutely! While this recipe calls for trout, you can use other whole fish such as salmon, sea bass, or tilapia according to your preference and availability.
Is there a substitute for parsley if I don't have it on hand?
Certainly! If you don't have parsley, you can substitute it with other fresh herbs like cilantro, dill, or chives for a similar burst of flavor.
Can I prepare the cabbage ahead of time?
Yes, you can! You can shred the cabbage in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days until ready to use.
Can I adjust the seasoning according to my taste preferences?
Absolutely! Feel free to adjust the amount of salt, pepper, and garlic according to your taste preferences. You can also experiment with additional herbs and spices to customize the flavor to your liking.
How can I ensure the fish is cooked through?
To ensure the fish is cooked through, you can use a fork to gently flake the flesh near the thickest part. If the fish flakes easily and is opaque all the way through, it is cooked and ready to serve.
Can I use pre-packaged shredded cabbage instead of shredding it myself?
Yes, absolutely! Using pre-packaged shredded cabbage can save you time and effort in preparation. Just ensure it's fresh and of good quality, and adjust the seasoning to taste as needed.
How do I know when the cabbage is cooked to perfection?
The cabbage should be tender but still have a slight crunch when it's cooked to perfection. You can test it by gently piercing it with a fork or tasting a small piece. If it's too soft, it may be overcooked, so keep an eye on it during baking to achieve the desired texture.

Peel and finely chop the garlic. Finely chop the parsley. Wash and pat dry the fish. Brush each fish with olive oil and place them on top of the cabbage. Sprinkle the chopped garlic and parsley over the fish. Drizzle the remaining olive oil and lemon juice over everything and bake for 20-25 minutes.Step 4
When done, remove from the oven and transfer to serving plates. Optionally, garnish everything with fresh herbs and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
