  • Step 1

    Dice the broccoli into bite sized florets and add to a saucepan of boiling water. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until fork tender. Rinse completely and set aside to steam dry.

    Heat the olive oil in a skillet over a medium/high heat. Crush the garlic and thinly slice the scallions. Add to the skillet along with the ground pork and cook through until browned all over.

    Add the broccoli and stir well to combine, cooking for a minute more.

    Add the kale, lemon juice, zest, sesame oil, salt and pepper. Stir well to combine and pan fry until the kale starts to wilt.

    Add the sesame seeds and stir through until the kale is wilted and the broccoli is starting to brown. Serve hot.

    Has potential, but this is very basic. Added additional seasonings - turmeric, cumin, and Penzey’s Singapore seasoning along with some shallots. Deglazed pan with lemon juice instead of using zest. Added green onion at end and drizzled with toasted sesame oil. Oh, and added waaaay more garlic. I’m Italian….
