Keto Brazilian Lemonade
You will love this authentic Brazilian lemonade that is both refreshing and sweet! The drink only uses a few simple ingredients. Traditionally this drink is made using limes, sweetened condensed milk, water, and ice. To make this drink Keto and Low Carb friendly, we substituted the sweetened condensed milk with rich canned coconut milk and sweetener. All the ingredients are blended in a small blender until frothy. The mixture is poured over ice to make for a refreshing drink that is both hydrating and full of vitamin C. If you don't know much about Brazilian cooking, this is a great introductory Brazilian Keto recipe.
Are there different versions of Brazilian lemonade?
Yes! Some versions call for adding the whole limes. We have decided to use freshly squeezed lime juice instead for easy preparation. Sometimes the whole lime version can lead to a bitter result if blended for too long. However, if you like more complex flavor profiles like this, please give that a try, but be sure to strain the pieces before serving.
Can you use lemons?
You can use lemons as a substitute, but the traditional recipe calls for limes.
What is the best Keto sweetener for this recipe?
We like powdered erythritol because it dissolves very easily in water. It tastes the most like sugar, which balances the acidity of the lime juice the best. Feel free to increase the amount of sweetener if you would like. After blending the mixture, taste and add more sweetener as needed.

Isn’t a cup of erythritol way too much.

😔 I should have read these comments before I made the recipe.

Between that and the apparently flawed carb count ......

Yes, 1/2 cup of erythritol is about right for my system to process.

It looks like 1 cup is for 4 servings.

To balance the tartness from the limes, we felt it needed this much sweetener. Feel free to add 1/4 of the amount and taste, adding more to taste as desired!
