“Mexican blend” cheese is just an easy way to get the right flavors in your Keto recipes. It typically comes pre-shredded in a bag and consists of monterey jack, cheddar, and quesadilla cheese. You can make this mixture yourself at home in equal parts cheese if you can’t find a Mexican blend in stores.

Can I use bacon bits?

This recipe includes the weights and nutrition for raw bacon. Do not substitute bacon bits by exact weight if you decide to use them. Make sure you calculate how much weight is lost when bacon is cooked.

Can I make the recipe in an oven?

    Start with raw bacon, and dice it into small pieces. Slab bacon or pre-sliced bacon can work. Cook the bacon in a pan on your stove until it’s very crispy. The smaller the pieces of bacon are, the better it will be for the recipe.

    While the bacon is cooling for a little, use a fork to mash room temperature cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Add shredded Mexican blend cheese to the cream cheese, as well as the bacon. Stir the ingredients together until you have an even mixture to fill your jalapenos with.

    Slice large jalapenos into halves and deseed them. Pack each jalapeno with the cream cheese filling, making sure each pepper is densely filled. Turn on an air fryer to preheat at 350 F (180 C), and arrange the jalapeno poppers on your air fryer tray. Cook the jalapeno poppers for 6-8 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the jalapenos are tender.
