Keto Chocolate, Orange And Pecan Compound Butter
This sweet chocolate, orange, and pecan compound butter is part of our collection of Keto flavored butters 6 different ways. Zesty orange, crunchy pecans, and cocoa powder are combined with unsalted butter to create a sweet and flavorsome topping, perfect for Keto pancakes or smothered on low carb toast. This is a simple way to add extra fats and flavor to your Keto breakfasts and sweet treats.
Can I Make This Nut Free?
We have added chopped pecans to our sweet compound butter to add a crunchy texture. If you have a nut allergy or intolerance, you can simply omit the pecans. Alternatively, you can swap them for some chopped unsweetened dried cranberries. This will work well to complement the chocolate and orange flavors. Please be sure to adjust your macros to account for any changes made to the recipe.
What Other Flavor Options Can I Make?
This Keto recipe is part of a series of flavored butters made 6 different ways. We have made a selection of different compound butters - both sweet and savory, which can be found in our sides section. These include walnut and blue cheese, sun-dried tomato, basil and parmesan, manchego and black olive, chocolate, orange and pecan, cinnamon mocha, and lemon and herb.

Step 1
Let the butter come to room temperature so that it is soft and easy to mash. Add the butter to a mixing bowl and mash lightly with a fork. Add the orange juice to the mixing bowl along with the zest, cocoa powder, pecans, and erythritol. You may use your preferred low carb powdered sweetener if desired, adjusting to taste.Step 2
Use a fork to mash the butter, cocoa powder, orange juice, zest, pecans, and erythritol together. Make sure to distribute the flavorings evenly throughout the butter. Taste and adjust sweetness/cocoa/orange as desired.Step 3
Scoop the sweet butter out from the bowl and into the center of a square of plastic wrap or baking paper. Use your hands to mold the butter roughly into a log shape. Wrap the edges of the plastic wrap/paper tightly around the butter, securing the ends to seal. Transfer the butter to the fridge to set and firm for a minimum of two hours. Slice and serve as desired.
