Keto Orange Juice
Fruit juices like orange juice are high in carbs and natural sugars, which could knock you out of ketosis. This Keto orange juice is sweet, slightly tangy, and has a robust orange aroma and flavor. Preparing Keto juice recipes may take more time than juicing, but it is 100% worth the effort.
Is fresh orange juice Keto-friendly?
Unfortunately, no. Even though fresh orange juice is a whole food, one cup contains 25g of net carbs. But don’t worry, because this recipe will satisfy your orange juice flavors while helping you maintain ketosis.
Can you drink fruit juice on Keto?
Generally, most 100% fruit juices are rich in carbohydrates and sugars, making them unsuitable for a Keto diet. This recipe, however, is prepared with less fruit juice and more zest and natural extract to replicate the taste of orange juice.
Does this Keto orange juice recipe taste like carrots?
No, it doesn’t. The orange flavor from the zest and extract is strong enough to mask any carrot flavor. The carrot is mainly used for its color, but feel free to swap it for natural food coloring.
Does this recipe require a juicer?
While many juicing recipes require a juicer, this one doesn’t. Using this method, you can prepare any juice you desire without needing that appliance. Simply add the zest and carrots to a high-power blender or food processor with some water and blend until super smooth. Then, line a fine strainer with a clean cloth and place it over a jug. Pour the mixture over the fabric and let the juice strain, leaving the pulp behind. Alternatively, pour the mixture into a nut milk bag and squeeze it over a bowl.
