The Best Keto Brownies

5 ratings

These Keto brownies are so incredibly fudgy and decadent - no one is going to believe that they’re low carb. This gooey chocolatey goodness is one of the best Keto recipes you’ll ever come across. These brownies make a quick and easy Keto recipe, ready in under 30 minutes.

Are these brownies gluten-free?

Yes, they are! Regular brownies are made with wheat flour, which contains gluten. This Keto brownie recipe, however, uses almond flour which is gluten-free, low-carb, and Keto-friendly.

What is the secret to fudgy Keto brownies?

A couple of factors determine the texture and flavor of these brownies:

1. Using melted butter elevates the taste of these brownies, as well as helping to keep them moist and gooey. You can replace the butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free option, but we recommend using butter if you can consume dairy.

2. Using the exact amount of almond flour affects the result immensely. If you use more than what the recipe calls for, the brownie texture will be closer to a cake. If you use less almond flour, the brownies won’t hold.

What are some variations of these low-carb brownies?

Feel free to stir in some nuts for added crunch. Great flavor combinations include pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, or slivered almonds. You can also add shredded coconut, cacao nibs, sugar-free white chocolate, or raspberries for a twist.

How to store these fudgy Keto brownies?

After the brownie batch has cooled, you can store it in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week. A great thing about these low-carb brownies is that they are also freezer-friendly. Wrap each piece individually in parchment paper, arrange the wrapped pieces in an airtight container, then place the container in the freezer. The brownies can be consumed within 6 months.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 F / 180 C. Grease an 8 inch / 20 cm square pan and line it with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk the almond flour, granulated sweetener, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Add the butter to a pan over low heat and let it melt. Take the pan off the heat and let the butter cool slightly. Add the melted butter to a bowl with the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and fold using a spatula until just combined. Roughly chop the dark chocolate. Fold half of it into the batter.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the rest of the chopped chocolate on top. Transfer the pan to the oven.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Bake for 20 minutes, or until the center doesn’t jiggle when you shake the pan. If you insert a toothpick, it should come out with batter stuck to it. If it comes out dry, then you have overbaked the brownies.
    Step 5
  • Step 6

Let the brownies cool completely in the pan for at least an hour. Take the brownies out of the pan with the help of the parchment paper, and cut it into 9 squares. Sprinkle with some salt flakes (optional). Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

These were pretty good. My DIL who is also keto really liked them - as did my njj on n-keto hubby. I might have baked a few minutes too long, because they were a little crumbley and not as fudgy as I thought they would be. I would use a tad less erythritol next time too. But pretty good overall.

Does the ‘sugar-free’ dark chocolate bar refer to an unsweetened bar or a bar sweetened with sugar alternative?
