Vietnamese cuisine employs a rich caramel sauce which they have adopted from French cuisine, which is used in many savory dishes to impart a deep layer of flavor and color. It provides high contrast in flavor (sweet and salty) to various dishes. Keto Vietnamese Caramel sauce is key for lots of Vietnamese comfort foods. This is a super easy Keto recipe that adds a huge amount of flavor to simple dishes!

How do you use Vietnamese caramel sauce?

Vietnamese caramel can be added to chicken, shrimp, and pork dishes to add a layer of rich caramel flavor. It will provide a sweet and salty flavor and nice caramelization to all meat dishes that call for Vietnamese caramel. Specific dishes that you can use Vietnamese caramel sauce in are Thịt Kho (Vietnamese Pork and Egg), caramel pork, caramel chicken, or caramel shrimp.

The best sweetener to use is a brown sugar replacement made from erythritol. Since this is different from real sugar, you will need to use the Keto Vietnamese caramel sauce immediately after making it, or it will solidify.
