If you need a quick fix for low carb chocolate cake, you have come to the right place. This Keto chocolate mug cake recipe is super quick and easy to prepare and bake. The batter can be quickly beaten in a coffee mug and microwaved for just 1 minute. No dirtying any extra dishes and it is oh, so chocolatey and good.

Is Unsweetened Cocoa Powder Keto Friendly?

Chocolate in its typical candy bar form is often laden with sugar and not approved for a Keto diet. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the flavor of chocolate whilst maintaining a low carb diet. To create the best Keto chocolate mug cake recipe, we have used unsweetened baking chocolate and just a hint of 100% cocoa powder. Combined with low carb sweetener, this creates all the decadence and richness of a chocolate dessert without the refined sugars.

Tips for Crafting the Ultimate Mug Cake

We have opted for almond flour to create our Keto mug cake recipe. Once combined with the remaining ingredients, you have the perfect mug cake batter. Of course, the success of any cake is in the baking and retaining a soft and moist sponge. In order to achieve the perfect sponge, the cooking time is crucial. Microwave for no more than 50-60 seconds to ensure a soft and moist cake.

Really delicious, I reduced the sugar sweetener in this to two tablespoons and added about a tablespoon of no sugar chocolate spread. This was honestly so good! It satisfies my chocolate and sweet craving and I like that it's just one serving.

Super Awesome Chocolate flavor. I used 40 gms of the powdered sweetener and it was fine. Hard to believe it is healthy to eat ;D Another keeper!

I use coconut flour and one half teaspoon of instant espresso coffee to kick up the chocolate flavor.

So good and chocolatey. I used half of the amount of sweetener, 5 grams of Lily’s dark chocolate chips, and a little Rebel vanilla ice cream on top. What a perfect non-guilty treat!

This was heavenly! I used half the sugar and I use monk fruit! I Put a little whipped cream on it after it cooled a bit. My kids even loved it and wanted one too.

Rich and Decadent. Made exactly as the recipe states (see note below about using sweeteners). It is very important to not over cook - it should still look like it is not cooked, but be firm with a spoon, otherwise it will be dry and inedible! For those saying it is too sweet, try using two different types of sweetener. When using sugar alternatives, it always helps to use at least two, as they are all a bit different, and the off-tastes that each have will counter act one another leaving a perfect balance of sweet without any after taste or strange mouthfeel. I used allulose and erythritol here. For us, it was exactly like a lava cake! Definitely a very large serving; my husband and I both agreed next time we can share one. Thank you for the recipe!

It depends on the strength of the microwave. You might of over cooked.
