The Best Keto Mocha Frappé

10 ratings

Are you missing out on those delicious mocha blended coffee drinks? This is what you have been looking for! Super easy to whip up, be sure to have cold coffee on hand that you have made ahead of time or saved from a batch of brewed coffee. We like to brew coffee stronger than usual for these. We used a ratio of 10 tablespoons of ground coffee to 4 cups of water in a traditional coffee maker.

Can you use this Keto recipe to prepare different frappe flavors?

Of course, you can! Prepare this recipe as a base by omitting the chocolate syrup and chocolate chips. For vanilla frappe, add 1 tsp of vanilla extract. For a Keto pumpkin spice frappe, add 2 tbsp of unsweetened pumpkin puree and ½ tsp pumpkin spice, and for a Keto caramel frappe, add 2 tbsp of sugar-free caramel.

Can you adapt this recipe to a vegan diet?

Absolutely! Swap the heavy cream for coconut milk or coconut cream, and you're good to go.

What type of coffee can you use for this recipe?

To make this delicious Keto coffee recipe, you need good quality brewed coffee. Please don’t skimp on the quality of coffee, as it will make a huge difference in flavor. You can also use instant coffee dissolved in water if that's all you have.

For anyone who doesn’t understand how it can be total carbs 30 per serving and then 4 net carbs per serving, 24 of the carbs per serving in this case are coming straight from erythritol, so the vast majority of that 24 isn’t included in the calculation of net carbs. The specific sweetener this recipe calls for is almost 100% erythritol.

Out of this world! I subbed w premade cold brew and unsweetened coconut almond milk instead of water. Totally satisfies any chocolate cravings.

How can the net carbs only be 4 per serving? What else do you subtract other than fibre?

Cindy I disagree with you also. I have been counting Net carbs since July and have lost significant weight. You subtract Fiber and Sugar alcohols.

Cindy, I disagree with you. I lost thirty pounds doing keto and having things like this. The reason you count Net carbs is because what you subtract from regular carbs does not affect blood sugar. Whatever the scientific reason behind it, to each their own. It worked for me.

The total carbs are 30 grams! The macros are hardly keto and the people drinking stuff like this probably aren't losing weight. Count total carbs, not net, and this recipe is why you should. The pros reccomend no more than 20 total grams carbs per day. Counting net will certainly let you feel good about recipes like this, but the carb count will stall weight loss. If you're new to keto, stay away from super sweet stuff like this. It only triggers more sweet cravings that can completely derail your commitment to this way of eating. There's a FB group called Ketogenic Success. The coaches there can help you get on track with proper macros. Apps such as this aren't very accurate and counting net carbs is a set up for failure. Good luck and keto on!

You subtract sugar alcohols, fiber from carbs to get net.

To recipe writer: so if we split the drink into two tall glasses but only drink one. Is the macros 1.5 servings? Why would you make a 3 serving recipe? A bit confusing for food logging

It says 3 servings but recipe says to use 2 glasses. Is it supposed to make 2 servings?

With Keto you count the net carbs not the total
