Keto Caesar Chicken Cheese Wrap

If you’re obsessed with Caesar salad like we are, you should add this Caesar wrap recipe to your meal plan. Monterey Jack cheese is melted and manipulated into “flatbread,” then stuffed with grilled chicken, Keto Caesar sauce, and a lot of lettuce. The recipe is prepared in under 30 minutes and makes for the best lunch or a light midweek dinner.

How to make the Caesar sauce?

This sauce has all the flavors of Caesar dressing but is thicker. If you use regular Caeser dressing, it will ooze out of the wrap. Olive oil is an essential part of a Caesar dressing, but we have omitted it since it would thin out the sauce. Instead, we use olive oil mayonnaise to maintain the original flavor. Mix the mayo, lemon juice, mustard, anchovy paste, garlic powder, grated parmesan, and salt in a bowl. Store any extra sauce in a jar and use it in other Keto sandwich wraps.

Can you use another cheese for the wrap?

If you do not want to use Monterey Jack cheese, you can replace it with other types. Feel free to experiment with mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, or pepper jack cheese. You can use shredded or pre-sliced to ensure uniform wraps.

How can you customize this Keto sandwich recipe?

You can prepare the same cheese wrap but fill it with different ingredients. Consider keeping the grilled chicken and swapping the Caesar dressing for sugar-free barbeque sauce, hot sauce, or blue cheese dressing. You can swap the chicken for leftover steak, shredded chicken, or sauteed vegetables. You can even make it into a breakfast sandwich wrap by adding scrambled eggs, avocado, and bacon.

  • Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350F/180 C and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Place the chicken though between 2 pieces of parchment. Bang using a kitchen hammer until flat.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Season the chicken with salt and pepper and add the oil to a nonstick pan. Place the pan over medium-high heat. Once hot enough, place the chicken in the pan.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Cook the chicken breast for 3-4 minutes until golden. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover with aluminum foil.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Arrange the shredded Monterey jack into 2 even squares on the baking sheet. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of parmesan cheese on each square. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges brown and the cheese takes on a lacelike appearance.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Meanwhile, prepare the Caesar dressing. Place mayonnaise, 1 tbsp parmesan, Dijon, lemon juice, anchovy paste, and garlic powder in a bowl. Whisk to combine.
    Step 5
  • Step 6

Take the baking sheet out of the oven and let the cheese cool for 2 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the chicken into long strips and tear the lettuce into large pieces. Place the lettuce over the space at the bottom and top it with 1 tbsp of dressing.
    Step 6
  • Step 7

Add the chicken strips and fold the bottom over the filling. Gently roll the cheese over the filling, then let the wraps cool and harden. Serve with the remaining dressing.

Try fresh grated Monterey Jack. The bagged pre grated kinds are coated in starch so the pieces don’t stick in the packaging, also makes it so it doesn’t melt full to bind with other pieces that are melting.
