What to serve with this recipe?

Pairing the Low-Carb Spicy Chicken and Cherries with complementary side dishes can enhance your dining experience. Consider serving it with a light and refreshing salad, such as a cucumber and mint salad, to balance the dish's spiciness. Grilled vegetables, like zucchini or asparagus, can also make for a delightful side that keeps the meal low-carb and nutritious. Additionally, a cauliflower rice or a simple green salad with a lemon vinaigrette would provide a light, crisp contrast to the robust flavors of the chicken and cherries.

What other fruit can you use?

While sour cherries add a unique tartness to this dish, there are other fruits you can experiment with to vary the flavors. Blackberries or raspberries can offer a similar tangy sweetness and pair well with the spices in the marinade. Alternatively, try using fresh plums or apricots for a slightly sweeter take on the recipe. These fruits maintain their shape and texture well during baking, providing a luscious complement to the savory chicken.

How to customize this recipe?

Customizing this Low-Carb Spicy Chicken and Cherries recipe allows you to tailor it to your taste preferences. If you prefer a milder dish, reduce the amount of chili flakes or substitute them with paprika for a smokier flavor. For an extra layer of flavor, add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary to the marinade. If you enjoy a bit of crunch, sprinkle some chopped nuts, such as almonds or pistachios, over the finished dish. To make it even more low-carb, you can substitute the sour cherries with other low-carb fruits as mentioned earlier.
