Keto Fizzy Moscow Mule
The Keto diet may have just made the Moscow mule even better than it was before! This recipe has the perfect combo of ginger, lime, and mint with your favorite brand of vodka. No beer is used here, saving you lots of carbs. Instead, the bulk of this drink is mixed with lime-flavored seltzer water for a fizzy, bubbly cocktail. All the other flavored ingredients are natural! You can easily add more ginger or mint to suit your tastes. For a more concentrated drink, simply reduce the amount of seltzer used to half a can.
Can you use ginger beer in your Keto Moscow mule?
While ginger beer is a classic ingredient to a Moscow Mule, that won’t work on a Keto diet. Ginger beer is very high in carbohydrates - as much as 50g carbs per bottle. In this case, you’ll need to use fresh ginger if you want that spicy, ginger flavor. You’re missing the alcohol content of the beer, which is why it’s okay to double up on the vodka at your discretion. You may also stick to 1oz vodka and simply reduce the amount of seltzer used to half a can per drink.
How much vodka should you use?
Since vodka is a clear, distilled liquor, it’s free of carbs. You can happily enjoy a shot or double-shot of your favorite vodka in this Keto Moscow mule or any other cocktail, for that matter.
Do you need the copper mug?
Any search of a Moscow mule will result in a photo of the drink served in a copper mug. If you have the full bar set up at home, you can enjoy the full experience of your Keto Moscow mule in a copper mug. Is that particular glass really necessary? Nope! Any 16-ounce glass will suffice here. Copper metal is good at maintaining the cold temperature of a Moscow Mule, but that’s the only purpose. You can serve your Keto cocktail in a chilled glass, with extra ice cubes, or with whiskey stones to maintain the temperature!
