Keto French Chocolate Truffles

6 ratings

We all love French Keto recipes because they are rich, easy to prepare, and loaded with flavor. These truffles are so decadent and luxurious yet require just 4 ingredients. They are perfect for holidays, gatherings, or as a gift. You’ll be surprised how effortless it is to make this luscious chocolate treat.

Which type of chocolate is best for this recipe?

Since this recipe’s main ingredient is chocolate, the higher the quality of bar you use, the tastier the truffles will be. Choose a chocolate bar that’s 60%, 70%, or 80%, depending on how sweet you want your dessert. Make sure that it is sweetened with a sugar-free sweetener and not sugar.

Can you adapt these chocolate truffles to a vegan diet?

Absolutely! First, use a vegan dark chocolate bar that doesn’t contain any dairy. Swap the butter for refined coconut oil or vegan butter. As for the heavy cream, replace it with canned coconut cream.

What can you coat these Keto French chocolate truffles with?

Traditional French chocolate truffles are usually dusted with unsweetened cocoa powder. They can also be coated in melted dark chocolate before dusting them for an added crunch. If you don’t mind steering away from the traditional recipe, you can cover the truffles with desiccated coconut, crushed pistachios, or powdered peanut butter. You can also place an almond or a hazelnut in the center of the ganache balls.

  • Step 1

Roughly chop the chocolate and transfer it to a bowl. Add the cream and butter to a saucepan and place it over medium-low heat. Heat the mixture until the butter melts and the liquid reaches a simmer. Take the saucepan off the heat as soon as you see tiny bubbles forming.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Pour half the cream mixture over the chocolate and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Using a spatula, gently stir in small circular movements to combine. If you still see chunks of unmelted chocolate - that's fine.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Pour the remaining cream over the chocolate. Stir until you have a smooth, shiny chocolate mixture. Line a shallow baking dish with plastic wrap.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Pour the chocolate mixture into a baking dish and cover the surface with plastic wrap. The plastic should touch the surface of the chocolate mixture. Place in the freezer for about 2 hours.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Add the cocoa powder to a plate or bowl. Using a small ice cream scoop or spoon, pick up a little bit of the set chocolate ganache mixture and roll it between your hands to shape it into a ball. Directly place each chocolate ball in the cocoa powder and gently toss it around to cover it completely.
    Step 5
  • Step 6

Put the truffles on a clean plate and place them in the fridge to set again for at least 30 minutes. Serve for dessert or as a snack with some coffee or tea.

These are good for that sweet tooth craving. A little mess to make but worth it. Next time I'll probably add almonds to the center of the truffle.

Really bitter. Too bitter to eat let alone enjoy! I used no sweetener and non sweetener chocolate but I thought recipe said unsweetened chocolate. Not nice. Texture good though so maybe with sweetener added would be good.

These are AMAZING. Sooo good that surely they can’t be keto? If you’re craving chocolate, one of these will definitely do the job. Hard to stop at one though - be warned
