Keto Pepperjack Cheese Sticks
Looking for a twist on the traditional fried mozzarella stick? Go for a brick of pepperjack cheese! Homemade cheese sticks are far better in flavor than any restaurant version you’ve had in the past. This recipe is very versatile - you can choose almost any type of cheese that comes in brick form. This snack is a little spicy, a little crispy, and VERY addictive!
*Please note you will need more oil than what is listed in the ingredient list. The ingredient list is for nutritional purposes only.

Step 1
Prepare the pepperjack cheese by cutting an 8oz block into approximately 3 X ½-inch pieces, as pictured.Step 2
In one bowl, crack and whisk an egg. In a second bowl, sift and combine the parmesan, flour, salt, and pepper.Step 3
Prepare a sheet tray by lining it with wax paper. One by one, dip the cheese sticks into the egg, into the flour mixture, and placing it on the sheet tray.Step 4
Once all the cheese sticks have been prepared, freeze them for at least six hours.Step 5
When it’s time to cook the cheese sticks, heat up to 2 cups of vegetable oil in a large skillet. When the oil is hot, drop the frozen cheese sticks in the skillet. Cook for 30-60 seconds per side, and allow them to drain on a paper towel to soak up excess grease. Enjoy hot!

Vegetable oil is not keto friendly use avocado oil has a high smoke point and works wonderful!

How else can we make this without the vegetable oil? To make it healthier?

Use an air fryer no need to worry about the oil.

Unfortunately, olive oil has too low of a smoke point for the amount of time the cheesesticks need to cook. You can try using a coconut or avocado oil for frying instead. Hope this helps!
