Keto Easy Air Fryer Crusted Tuna Steak

Include this beginner Keto air fryer recipe in your rotation for meal prepping. You can easily make multiple servings without increasing your prep or cooking time. Plus, the recipe is cooked in your air fryer, so your time in the kitchen is limited. Thick, pink tuna steaks are quickly breaded in a Keto mixture of almond flour and parmesan cheese with seasonings. Pop them in your air fryer, and just cook them until they’re done. You can pick from hundreds of Carb Manager side dish recipes to include in your meal prepping, your food log, or to use as inspiration. If you’re looking for seared tuna, search for it in the recipe library. This recipe will result in tuna steaks that are more cooked through with a crispy breading on the outside. Read further for extra ideas for how to use these air-fried tuna steaks.

Medium To Well-Done Air Fryer Steak

An air fryer cooks faster than your oven, but not quite as fast as frying in hot oil since your food isn’t submerged. Cooking tuna steaks in an air fryer will not give you the same effect as searing or deep-frying. This style results in more well-done tuna for those who don’t like rare meat. If you’d like to have a less-done tuna steak, you can increase your air fryer to its highest temperature and just cook until the breading turns golden.

Other Uses For This Recipe

You can do so much more than just cut into your crusted tuna steak with a fork and knife! Slice the cooked tuna and add Keto portions of protein on top of salads. You can include thinner slices in Keto tortillas or wraps for tuna sandwiches. You can also cut servings into halves or quarters to enjoy as snacks with other simple Keto-friendly foods, such as cheese cubes. You can keep the finished steaks in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.

  • Step 1

Prepare 4-ounce tuna steaks by sprinkling a small pinch of salt and pepper on one side of each portion. For this recipe, you need steaks that are at least 1-inch thick. Set the tuna steaks aside, and make your air fryer breading on a clean plate. Combine almond flour, parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, italian seasoning, and lemon pepper seasoning. If your lemon pepper seasoning does not include salt, you may wish to include an extra pinch of salt in the breading.

  • Step 2

Turn on your air fryer to preheat to 375 degrees. You do not need to dredge the tuna steaks before breading them. Use a clean hand to press each tuna steak into your plate of breading, making sure all exposed sides are coated. Flip the steaks and roll the edges in the breading as necessary to ensure a full but thin layer of coverage. Arrange all breaded tuna steaks on your air fryer tray.

  • Step 3

Cook the tuna steaks for 20 minutes or until the tops of the tuna steaks are golden brown and the tuna is cooked through. This recipe makes a well-done tuna steak. For a more rare steak, turn the air fryer up to as high as 425 degrees and cook until the breading on top of the steaks turn golden. Allow the finished tuna steaks to rest for a few minutes before slicing. Allow them to cool entirely before locking them away in containers in your refrigerator.
