Keto Christmas Rum Butter Coffee
This deliciously rich BULLETPROOF® coffee makes a great Keto festive drink. Our quick and easy Keto butter coffee is prepared with hot coffee, unsalted butter, warming ginger and cinnamon, a little low-carb sweetener, and a splash of rum. Perfect for enjoying on cold winter evenings and over the Christmas holidays.
Is rum Keto-friendly?
Rum is a great zero-carb spirit for those following a Keto diet. It can be enjoyed on occasion without the worry of taking you out of ketosis and can be a great addition to festive low-carb bakes. We have used one tablespoon of rum to flavor our Keto butter coffee recipe. However, you may add more or less rum to suit your personal taste. Please be sure to adjust your macros to account for any changes made to the original recipe.
Can you make this beverage dairy-free?
We have used butter for our Keto BULLETPROOF® rum coffee. If you would like to make the recipe free from dairy, you can simply swap the butter for coconut oil. You can also use a combination of coconut and BULLETPROOF® Brain Octane Oil (MCT Oil) if preferred. Sub directly in the same quantities, following the recipe as directed.
What kind of coffee can you use for this Keto recipe?
You can use freshly brewed coffee, espresso, or instant coffee mixed with boiling water. Just make sure that the coffee is strong because it will dilute when mixed with the other ingredients.

Step 1
Add the coffee to a large mug. Add the butter, erythritol, and spices, then stir to combine. You may add more or less sweetener and spices to suit your personal tastes.Step 2
Add the rum to the buttery coffee mixture. Stir well to combine. You may add more or less rum as desired.Step 3
Carefully take a handheld stick blender and blend the coffee until smooth and foamy on top. Alternatively, you may prepare the coffee in a free-standing blender, blending until velvety smooth, and foamy. Taste and adjust flavorings as needed and serve hot.
