Keto Steamed Ginger Walleye and Cabbage

You will love this nutritious keto meal filled with healthy vegetables and delicious fish. No steamer basket? No problem! Place cut cabbage on the bottom of a heavy bottomed pan to place the fish on top of it. This will create air pockets to allow steam through. Placed on top the cabbage is ginger and mushrooms for extra flavor, then everything is drizzled with a small amount of soy sauce.

  • Step 1

    In a heavy bottomed pot, place chopped cabbage, sliced ginger and sliced mushrooms. Add ¼ tsp kosher salt.

    Top with fish fillets and season them with ¼ tsp salt and the black pepper. Pour over the unsalted stock (water works great too) and soy sauce.

    Cover pot with a lid and allow it to come to a simmer. Simmer for 7-10 minutes.

    Absolutely delicious. This is a great and super easy way to add fish to my diet. I will try the shiitake mushrooms next time.

      Can’t believe I’ve never cooked cabbage this way!! It was so flavorful and delicious. I didn’t have mushrooms so I added sliced zucchini rounds instead, went great with the dish. Will be making this again with cod next time
