Low Carb Best Hot Dog Chili
This recipe is the best Keto hot dog chili you’ve ever eaten. Adding hot dogs to chili might seem a little strange at first, but it’s fun American nostalgic comfort food. It’s a family-friendly recipe that kids will really enjoy as well. Your best chili ever is made with ground beef, a blend of Low Carb frozen veggies, and hot dogs. This chili is thickened with cheddar cheese, so the chili has an extra-creamy broth that’s very flavorful. Add your favorite toppings to your bowl of chili for lunch or dinner and enjoy! You can also use this recipe for meal prepping.
Are hot dogs Keto?
Hot dogs can be included in your Keto diet. In most cases, it really just depends on if you have other dietary restrictions. Choose your favorite brand and type of hot dog. They can be made with pork, all beef, or a blend of the two in most cases. Most hot dogs should add no more than 1-2 grams of carbs to your meal.
Keto chili toppings
Want to top off your chili with some yummy toppings? Keto toppings for your chili might include extra shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onion. A unique topping that’s good for the Keto diet would be some sliced avocado. Guacamole also fits the bill for Keto chili toppings!
Can I freeze the Keto hot dog chili recipe?
You can freeze the cooked chili for meal prepping purposes or batch-cooking. Wait for the chili to cool down completely (you can use your refrigerator to help you). Then, divide the chili into portions in tupperware or meal prep containers. Then, you can freeze the chili for up to one month! Just microwave the chili to heat it up.

Step 1
Break up all the ground beef in a pot and drizzle the beef in olive oil. Pour the frozen veggies into the pot, then cover and turn on the stove to high heat. Cook the beef and veggies until the beef browns in the oil and the veggies tenderize, stirring as needed. Once the beef has been browned, season the pot with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and chili powder.Step 2
Pour tomato sauce and beef broth into the pot and stir to combine. Bring the chili to a boil while you cut the hot dogs into bite-sized pieces. Reduce the heat as much as possible while maintaining the boil on the stove, then add the cut hot dogs to the chili.Step 3
Cook the chili at a boil for about 5 minutes or until the hot dogs are cooked through. Then, reduce the heat so the pot is only bubbling (not simmering or boiling). Stir shredded cheese into the pot until it all melts. Then, let the chili bubble without covering the pot so it can reduce and thicken to your liking. Serve with more shredded cheese on top or with other chili toppings at your discretion.
