Low Carb Thanksgiving Smoked Salmon Salad
This deliciously decadent Keto Christmas salad is loaded with fats and festive flavor. Our savory low carb salad is loaded with smoked salmon, creamy avocado, tender baby spinach, dried cranberries, aromatic chives, and drizzled with a sweet maple orange dressing. This makes a great Keto lunch or light dinner option to enjoy over the holiday season.
Can I Use Canned or Fresh Salmon?
We have chosen to use smoked salmon for our Thanksgiving Keto recipe as the rich smokiness and oily fats perfectly complement the sweetness of the dressing and the cranberries. Smoked salmon also makes an indulgent treat for the holidays and is better suited to the recipe than fresh or canned salmon. If you prefer, you could use smoked mackerel as the texture and flavor would balance well with the sweet elements of the dish. Please be sure to adjust your macros to account for any changes made to the recipe.
Dressing Tips
We have added a little orange juice to our low carb Christmas salad dressing. This provides some acidity and a hint of festive flavor. If you prefer, you can swap the orange juice for lemon juice in the same quantities. If desired, you can also swap the syrup for your preferred low carb sweetener.
