Keto Tuna Melts
We have made these delicious Keto Tuna Melts by filling fresh and colorful bell peppers with a tuna salad. The tuna salad is made by combining wild-caught canned tuna, a good quality mayo, and diced white onion. Feel free to add diced celery as well. The mixture is placed into a bell pepper which has been sliced in half. Then, the bell peppers are topped with a slice of muenster cheese which is melted in the oven. We love a quick, easy weeknight meal high in protein and healthy fats! Be sure to use avocado oil-based mayonnaise or homemade mayo for this Keto tuna recipe.
What is the best tuna to use for this recipe?
Please use wild-caught canned tuna for this recipe where possible. If you cannot find wild-caught tuna, please feel free to substitute it with conventional canned tuna.
What color bell peppers can I use?
You can use any color of bell peppers that you would like! We like to use a combination of colors for the best presentation. Many stores will sell a set of three bell peppers of multiple colors, which we find is the easiest to purchase and use.
Can I use a different type of cheese?
Yes! Feel free to use any type of sliced cheese you would like that melts easily. Some types of cheese that we think would be delicious here would be cheddar, pepper jack, Swiss cheese, or even mozzarella for this Keto tuna melt recipe.
To make the ultimate pairing, serve this Keto tuna recipe with other Keto recipes like our Keto Avocado Cucumber Salad!

Easy and delicious. I tried muenster the first time but tried mozzarella cheese to add more flavor.
