Keto Prosciutto Salmon with Garlic Butter

11 ratings

Simply seasoned salmon is just the beginning. The real star of the show is the blanket of crisp and salty prosciutto that adheres to the top of the fish in your oven. An equally simple garlic butter sauce adds the richness and extra bump of flavor the dish needs.

  • Step 1

Preheat an oven to 375 degrees. Lay 4-oz salmon filets down on a flat surface and pat dry with a paper towel. Season with the salt, pepper, red pepper, and onion powder.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Lay the salmon down on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. Lay a slice of prosciutto over each filet. You don’t need to tuck the prosciutto under the salmon.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Bake the salmon for 30 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly when done.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

During the final minutes of baking, make the garlic butter sauce. Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat, then stir in the garlic and lemon juice. Let the butter cook until it turns lightly golden and the garlic gives off a nutty smell.

  • Step 5

Arrange your salmon on a serving dish and drizzle the garlic butter over each filet with a spoon. Enjoy!

This is really good! I kept the salt down since the prosciutto is pretty salty. I served it with steamed Brussels sprout which were the perfect tool for soaking up the lemon butter from my plate. I agree that the salmon was a bit over cooked at 30 minutes. Sockeye is expensive and delicate so deserves less time to keep it moist and tender.

Loved it. And my family too!! All of us where iffy about the prosciutto but worked perfectly Next time I will go stronger with spices and garlic sausace And the cooking time for the salmon is too much A tick filet would go overcooked with more than 15 minutes A thin filet needs 10 min maximum. Overcooking it willjust make it dry, the correct time make the salmon feel soft and delicious

This recipe was a big hit at my house. I will use less red pepper next time only because it seemed to overshadow the garlic and prochiuttp Carla in Pittsburgh

Good flavors, but 30 min in the oven was way to long for me. I’ll try again for 15 min.

Might just try doing it by internal temp. about 120 remove from oven and rest, it will hit 125 while resting. I do everything by temp as ovens temps are different depending on the oven, so time in oven needs to be adjusted. All my recipes have an internal temp, and an "about X minutes" on them.
