  • Step 1

    Slice the onion and cut the bacon into strips.
  • Step 2

    Heat the coconut oil in a large casserole dish over a low/medium heat and add the onion and bacon. Fry gently until the onion is tender and the bacon is just cooked – about 4/5 minutes.

    Remove the outer leaves and the core from the red cabbage and slice finely.
  • Step 4

    Add the olive oil to the casserole dish along with the sliced cabbage, balsamic, salt and cinnamon. Stir well to combine.

    Turn the heat to low and cover the dish. Cook on low for 45 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. The cabbage should be tender and sweet.

    Line 4 days add butter. I do not see butter on the ingredients list. Olive oil however is there but not used in instructions
