Crispy Air Fried Keto Artichoke Fries

These delicious crumbed artichoke fries are the perfect addition to parties, gatherings, and holidays. Besides the artichoke hearts, you only need five more ingredients to prepare them. The artichoke fries are excellent as an appetizer, snack, or side dish.

What part of the artichoke can you use for this recipe?

We have used canned artichoke hearts to save time. You can also prep fresh artichokes, but you must be more careful about the parts you use. Remove all the green outer petals as they are inedible. On the other hand, the inner petals are edible and can be used in this recipe as well. Once you reach the center, scrape off the choke, the fuzzy part in the heart's center. Peel the outer layer of the stem, and use its center along with the heart and inner petals.

** Can you bake them in the oven?**

Of course, you can! Once you coat them in the crumb, place them on a sheet pan lined with baking paper and spray generously with oil. Bake at 350F/180C for 15-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.

How many servings does this recipe make?

If you use four artichoke hearts as we did, this recipe will yield four servings of 8 fries. These Keto French fries are super satiating, so you shouldn’t be discouraged by the number of fries you get to eat. Depending on your macro requirements, you can eat more or less of them.

    Preheat your air fryer to 350F/180C. Place the artichoke hearts between layers of kitchen paper. Squeeze out as much moisture as you can.

    To a bowl, add the egg and coconut flour. Whisk until a thick batter forms. In another bowl, whisk together the almond flour and parmesan cheese.

    Slice each artichoke heart into eight long pieces. Dip the artichoke pieces in the egg batter, then coat them in the dry crumb. Make sure the fries are coated well with the batter and dry mixture.

    Repeat with the remaining artichoke pieces and transfer them to a plate. Place half the coated artichoke pieces in the air fryer and cook for 15-18 minutes until crispy. Take them out of the fryer and fry the remaining pieces.

    Once both batches are cooked, transfer them to a serving platter. Place your desired dipping sauce in a small bowl next to the fries. Serve warm.
