Best Paleo CrockPot Meatloaf
You will love our delicious Paleo crock pot meatloaf, which makes for a super easy weeknight meal! We love dishes you can prepare ahead of time and hold on a warm setting until dinner is served. Meatloaf is also a great dish to meal prep as it reheats nicely and is simple to portion. Our meatloaf is made with 100% grass-fed beef. The ground beef is combined with diced white onion, salt, coconut aminos, and pasture-raised eggs. The meatloaf is cooked in the slow cooker until it is almost done before it is slathered with a Paleo-friendly ketchup-based sauce sweetened with a bit of coconut sugar.
Do I have to use grass-fed beef?
You can swap the grass-fed ground beef for conventional ground beef if you are on a budget. However, we recommend buying the best meat you can afford for optimal health. Grass-fed beef has a lower ratio of Omega-6 fatty acids compared to Omega-3 fatty acids.
Where can I find Paleo-style ketchup?
You can find Paleo-style ketchup at most large retailers these days. If you cannot source it, you can use canned tomato sauce. Please taste it and add additional coconut sugar if you use tomato sauce to balance out any tartness.

Step 1
Add the ground beef, diced white onion, kosher salt, two tablespoons of coconut aminos, and the eggs to a stand mixer bowl. Mix on medium-low speed until the mixture comes together. Use a paddle attachment.Step 2
The meat should start to bind together, and you should see some of the strands of meat forming into longer strands. If you do not have a stand mixer, you can do this process by hand using a wooden spoon or spatula.Step 3
Form the meatloaf into the bottom of the slow cooker into a domed shape. Place the lid on the slow cooker and turn the pot on high for 4 hours. During this time, the meat will release a lot of fat and water from the meatloaf. It is unsightly but will not harm the cooking process.Step 4
In the meantime, make the ketchup-based sauce. Combine the ketchup, two tablespoons of coconut sugar, the remaining coconut aminos, and mustard powder. Once the meat has been cooking for 2-3 hours, remove the lid. Use a silicone brush to spread half of the sauce on top of the meatloaf.Step 5
Be sure to portion half of the sauce on top first versus dipping the brush back into the ketchup sauce to avoid contamination. You will want to reserve the remaining half of the sauce for topping the meatloaf at the end of cooking time. Once four hours have passed, top with the remaining sauce. Cut and serve immediately!
