Ultimate Keto Greek Oven Baked Fish with Lemon Oil
This oven-baked fish is the ultimate summer Greek main dish enjoyed by all across Greece. We used sea bream, a delicious fish rich and sweet in flavor with few fiddly bones. The texture is firm but tender. Sea bream is best cooked whole, with backbone left in as the flesh holds together well. Simply dress the fish with lemon slices and a drizzle of olive oil and roast in the oven. Serve Greek sea bream with a traditional lemon, oil, and oregano dressing. With this Keto summer Greek recipe, your midweek meals or family and friends gatherings couldn’t be simpler and fuss-free.
Can I substitute any ingredients? If you cannot find whole sea bream locally, you can also use sea bream fillets or even sea bass as an alternative fish, which has a similar flavor profile.
Can I use alternative cooking methods? This recipe can be oven-baked, grilled, or cooked over the BBQ.
What can I serve this dish with? Serve this Greek oven-baked sea bream with a traditional Greek salad, a simple leaf salad, or any steamed greens or roast vegetables of choice.
Tips to debone a fish Once the fish has cooked, use a knife to guide the blade along the bones starting from the tail. The meat will come away easily. Simply flip the fillet onto the plate, hold the tail and carefully separate the bone from the fish meat.

Recipe Steps
steps 5
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF. Lay a piece of aluminum foil in a baking tray, big enough to fold over the fish. Place the fish on top and score the skin with a sharp knife 3 times.Step 2
Create a parcel with the aluminum foil, tightly fold over all edges but leave enough space on top so the fish cooks in its steam. Place in the center of the oven for 12 minutes until just cooked.Step 3
While the fish cooks, make the lemon oil dressing. Place the remaining 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1/s teaspoon of dried oregano into a blender. Blitz on high speed until the dressing looks pale and creamy.Step 4
Remove from the oven. Change the setting to grill. Open the parcel and grill the top of the fish for 2-4 minutes until lightly golden and crispy.Step 5
Transfer the fish to a serving platter. Drizzle the lemon oil over the fish. Serve with any side of your choice for a complete meal. We recommend a traditional Greek salad with a slab of feta cheese.
